  1. Used to be my favorite forum. Last time I checked the traffic was very low. I need to get back on there more. Great fishing report and pictures.
  2. I would have never thought about asking them ? That’s sarcasm. Obviously I know that but it took them 72 hours to respond last time. So i asked here in case someone knew if there was a trick to the serial numbers (like on some rifles where certain letters sequences meant certain years). I did see that Mice. At least I know it’s a 2019 or newer model.
  3. Metanium because I like It.
  4. Is there a way to tell how old a loomis rod is by the serial number? AQ13757
  5. Frog and toad are a little different.
  6. I don’t know what Ali Express has to do with anything, but that red reel is freaking sweet. I’ve seen $2 knock off jackhammers on aliexpress so I don’t trust stuff from there.
  7. That Mach crush is an ugly reel. There are nicer Lews reels.
  8. I have a Loomis GLX 844c MBR that could probably work too in a pinch.
  9. I’m pretty skeptical of the aliexpress tatula rods
  10. I bet if I needed the bayou that day with fc I could do the reel swap on the head Turner or 734 and get by. Thanks all.
  11. I was kind of thinking the 65lb braid would be too much. I have some 40 but just really don’t want to respool my frog rod. The 40 is .013” and the 65 is .016”. I’m sure the 65lb braid reel thrown on the bayou or 734c when I want to throw toads will work fine.
  12. You think throw them on the 20lb fc?
  13. I don’t throw toads often but have a lot of them so trying to see which of my current setups would work best. I have a Falcon Head Turner 6’10” HF with 6.2 reel and 17lb Armilo Defier. Dobyns 734c with 7.2 reel and 17lb defier. Falcon Bayou 6’11” XHF with 8.1 reel and 20lb fc. Also have a 8.1 reel with 65lb braid to put on this one for frogs. Falcon All Around 7’ MHMF with 6.2 reel and 16lb fc. Falcon Amistad 7’3” HF with 7.3 reel and 65lb braid. That’s about It that might work for them.
  14. What’s your toad setup? Rod/reel/line? Anyone not using braid?
  15. Maybe I catch weak bass but other than sometimes on the initial hit, they don’t pull drag on my casting reels. I probably keep It tighter than most and from most comments I read on here, I like heavier line than most.
  16. Cheaper and budget of $300 doesn’t equate to me.
  17. Can you back reel a casting reel? Edit: seems so after reading the rest of the posts, but I legit didn’t know this was a thing.
  18. I like to buy the made in Japan JDM models. Ordered a Met today!
  19. You’re confused that he buys himself a new pair of sunglasses every 5-7 years?
  20. I don’t think so. Not on the water. Most don’t remove them to unhook a fish. If I do for any reason, they hook on my shirt, hang from the lanyard, or just get set down for a second.
  21. Hope so cuz I just bought the Bayou for both!
  22. Is the froggin/pitchin the current Bayou?
  23. Old thread I know. Did you end up getting the bayou? Does It double as a good pitching rod as well as a frog rod?
  24. like what? probably a million or more fishermen across the world wearing costas while fishing. OP, they don’t float, trust me.
