  1. My wife’s dumb cat chewed up the factory daiwa Eva power knobs on two of my reels. I replaced them with gomexus power knobs. I did something wrong though and on both reels the knobs are tight. I mean they do not freely turn. They’ll turn but there’s resistance. Makes reeling not smooth. I put them on in this order: small little metal washer, bushing, bearing, knob, bearing, tighten screw What’s my problem here?
  2. My most used currently are: Tatula Elite Seth Feider 6’9” ML, Tatula Limited SV 7.1 Falcon Lowrider “Head Turner”, Tatula 150 6.3 St Croix Mojo Bass MH Mod Fast, Tatula TW SV 103 Daiwa Tatula TWS 80 6.3:1, Daiwa Tatula 7’ glass cranking M JDM Daiwa Zillion TW HD 7.1:1, Dobyns Champion DX746 Daiwa Tatula Elite 8.1 w/ power knobs, Dobyns Champion 804c c-rig special Daiwa Zillion SV 7.1, Daiwa Tatula Elite Brent Ehrler Finesse Daiwa Tatula SV Limited 7.1, Daiwa Rebellion 7’3” MHF
  3. I can think of a lot of reasons. Less stable, louder, have to carry a battery, have to register because of the motor (depending on state), less fishing friendly than a pro angler.
  4. Pitching will get the top few rounds loose after a bit if you’re reeling on slack line a lot. Every once in a while just bomb cast out the back of the boat and reel up tight.
  5. P/F only holds like 50 yards of line or less for pitching purposes. The 103 holds at least double. P/F does not have an SV spool. P/F has power handles.
  6. Go big or go home. Pro Angler 17T. Or if you ever plan on offshore, Tandem Island.
  7. Keep in mind Otter than my setups aren’t typical for this forum. I don’t finesse fish in gin clear water for smallies up north and on my lake in Texas I have a chance at 7-12 lb fish every cast. I don’t think largemouth are Line shy for the most part down here in our waters, so I up size everything.
  8. I spooled up a new rod and reel last night for my son. Kind of an all around combo. Put 15lb big game on It. It can definitely be easier to deal with at times. I also re-did my 4 spinning rods. 3 with 20lb braid to 12lb fc. 1 with 20lb braid to 16lb fc. That one is a little heavier rod than the others and I use for underspins and weightless flukes in cover and like to be able to set the hook a little harder and pull them out.
  9. More speed or less trim.
  10. I like fc for less stretch and sinking. But you’d be just fine with mono. Something like big game.
  11. I like my Tatula P/F. I like my JDM Zillion HD even more.
  12. Tactical bassin got me tonight. $206 later I have 8 dirty jig finesse jigs, 10 dirty jig pitching jigs, 6 dirty jig swim jigs, 11 bags of trailers coming from tackle warehouse.
  13. I use 12 to 20lb fc depending on technique. 20lb for big t-rigs in heavy cover. Invisx or Sniper. I’ve never broken off mysteriously on hook set. If you’re breaking off 25lb often, you’re doing something wrong.
  14. I would use 20lb braid and 15lb red label leader.
  15. I like tactical bassin and MLF Live. That’s about It.
  16. Since this post I have 15 Daiwas, 2 Abus, 1 shimano. Like Daiwa best.
  17. Water temps in the 40s, I’m using jerk bait and drop shot. A-rig too but I don’t really enjoy throwing those.
  18. I just got my new graph last night and ordering the Livescope asap. Also replacing my Ultrex with a garmin force. I’m going to use this mount. https://www.thelivescanner.com/product-page/
  19. None of the above. I break off and get back to fishing as quickly as possible.
  20. My biggest of 2022 came on 12/31/22. 7.34 with a Vision 110 jerkbait. Second biggest was 6.5 on 8/27/22 with a Carolina Rig with brush hog. I rarely use either though and predict my 2023 big will be on a Texas rig creature or Texas rig 10” Worm.
