BPT Lake Guntersville Tournament
LOLOLOL, that was epic, some local dude in a aluminum Triton just hammered a 7.2 in front of the pro/cam...biggest fish of the day I think ??

BPT Lake Guntersville Tournament
Bawhahahaha.......if we blended the Professional Eating tour with the MLF or BASS, you'd be the GOAT ? My problem is with the "fish handling" rule, it's nothing but optics. Within 5mins of viewership one observes two guys get timeouts for dropping a fish on carpet, and then we watch a bleeder get released with no penalty. I think both should have no penalties, the angler can't really control either. Having a fish pop the hook right when you lift it up, having a fish squirm out of your hand when you are holding it behind the gills as to not get hooked, etc. To be honest the MLF seems way over complicated, but I've only watched bits and pieces.

What a stupid rule, just saw it again. Meanwhile ole gill hooked fish is saying "what about me"

BPT Lake Guntersville Tournament
Dude just catches a 3+ that is bleeding like a stuck pig, gets the full weight of the fish. Another dude drops a fish from a foot high onto carpet deck and gets a weight penalty. MLF has some silly rules. You can't control a slippery Bass sometimes anymore than you can control where the hook gets a fish.

Keith Poche
Pretty different to the way Keith handled it......one acted like a grown man, the other cried on the stage, and then on social media. Keith tried to apologize half heartily at Lay Lake for his behavior on stage during the Buggs Island Open. BASS: The Ugly - Bassmaster Exactly what my first reply was, who the heck risk getting tossed from a derby for 500 acres, when you can fish 128,000 acres of the second hottest Bass fishery in America. It's a silly story only because Keith thinks he has merit.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
I guess I'm only watching for Acuna, Strider, Murph, and Arcia at this point in the season. They are facing a brick wall, and they better figure some things out. I think depth finally caught up to them. Some teams I can't stand to see the Braves lose to, Toronto is at the top on non division teams, and to get sweep like that.....ROUGH!

Fast
Every Fast is different, I got a Steez that is MH Fast that is dynamite for jerks, small cranks, small topwaters, and then even shakeyheads and small t rigs/finesse jigs. Got a couple GLX MH Fast rods that are my all purpose rods...not perfect for anything but TRigs, and 3/4oz and under jigs, but they work for everything especially when you use the line to add the amount of stretch/delay you need in the system. I got several other Fast rods, but the terms really is useless because every single rod is a law unto itself imho.

Coast-kayak-monsoon trip report
Awesome fish, equipment, and report as always friend! Congrats on the new PB! Weather people have ruined many a day for me, then again I've flirted with lightning and torrential down pours as well. It's the game we play.

You're correct, it's not, you can watch that whole video on youtube....it's titled Off the grid.....Georgia. They just made a short out of it for other social media platforms that require short form videos.

Thanks, and that's awesome to hear, wonder why they don't advertise it like they do on the USDM models. The Zillion SV TW is the prettiest reel I've seen, and then you replaced the parts that I consider "cheap" on it outside of the spool as I love the SV spool on it. The drag dial and handle are sub par, knobs are okay. On the HD TW model I have it's perfect outside of the fact I just don't like the black on black finish. The SV TW finish is just beautiful, you feel like a rockstar with that reel in your hand.

Man there are so many hammers in N. AL right now between this event and the BASS Open on Wheeler.

I just got sucked down an hour long rabbit hole watching his videos.....the video posted on Insta linked here is from a video called Off the grid......Georgia. He's 90% off roader/mudder, 10% Bass angler. I've never watched an hour worth of fishing videos and not wanted to be in the boat......well his videos were a first ? Unique guy for sure, seems like a cool dude as well.

Nice one, all this rain is going to fire up the fish I think. We desperately needed it. We've got penny sized hail hitting right now.

You'd have to get out of the boat and drag or wench the boat up over a roller ramp like that correct?

It's wild how different our fisheries fish. Then again I didn't even throw topwater in the 50s, but I would have been stupefied if that was the only thing I could get them to eat at those water temps. As your water warms, I'm positive those numbers are going to skyrocket. I remember in August you were having raw thumb days every trip out. I think she fishes some places with Alewives, wonder if those guys do a "Shad spawn" Katie would have destroyed the fish on my homelake the last three weeks with her crepuscular nature.....you had to get up at 4am to really get in on the Shad spawn bonanza here, and I'm not getting paid to fish ?

That Crappie is crazy cool colored. Kind thought on the donation, fish handling is a pet peeve of mine. It's hard enough on the fish even when you try your best.....I had a Bass slip out of my hand yesterday twice, wanted to slap myself lol

i can name my SINGLE favorite bass fishing technique. (to help me shop)
1.) Big sub surface swimbaits........combines topwater with the ability to tease fish into biting, along with getting to watch fish follow your bait. Hard to top watching a fish track your bait like a Great White for 10-15yds, and then you get it to commit 5 ft from the boat. 2.) Buzzbaits.....the ultimate topwater for me because it moves so much water. While Pop-R and Walk the dog types produce epic bites, they are a bit more boring to fish because of the pace you work them 3.) Suspending Jerkbait......when they decide to eat a jerking stick, they usually decide to eat it by the boatload. The actual hit is extremely addictive as well, watching them knock slack into your line is so exciting. **** Honorable mention: Setting the hook on a T-Rig bait, not fishing them, but the actual hookset is one of the best feelings under the sun. That moment of hookup....."I AM LEGEND" ?

Nice ones Katie and Alex! I suspect your big number days come as it gets hotter and hotter, and your frog bite gets better and better. What your water temps, and depth? Are you seeing concentrations of baitfish? He looks like a good boy alright ? I was very surprised at how long it took my buddy's Python to eat the rat. He said some will eat them dead already which is safer, but his wanted them alive.

Oh wow, now that's a beautiful snake. I watched a buddy feed his pet snake a rat.....we were sitting around drinking beers just watching this tank for like an hour, and then WHAM, zero to 100% violence in like a nanosecond. I finally got a bit better around snakes after getting into landscaping last year. Never realized how many baby snakes were all around you if actually look for them.

Yeah this guy has all the snake handling tools and removes them from his property, but they keep showing back up. He thinks he built his home on a huge denning site. There is just such a visceral reaction for me when seeing a snake, creeps me out big time lol.
