  1. I've decided to simplify my approach to fishing this year. I'm getting rid of a lot of the excess crap in my boat, and focusing on my strengths.
  2. I think yours is late. Where are you going to be fishing in Texas?
  3. I think the idea behind it is to distort the head a bit in order to change the way it falls. I don't know. I was just curious because this old fart at the sporting goods store was swearing by them, and I'd never heard of them.
  4. Thanks, but thats not what I'm talking about. I'm looking for something that was described as being a flat, disc shaped weight similar to a penny with a hole in it.
  5. Is it? I don't have one, and I guess I've never really paid much attention to them. I've seen them advertised as eliminating chine walking. How do they do that if they're out of the water?
  6. Someone told me about a disc shaped internal tube weight that gives tubes an erratic fall. I've searched around, but I can't find them. He also said you could use a penny with a hole drilled in it for similar action. Does anyone know where to find these weights? Has anyone tried them?
  7. What are you looking to put on it? I have that same boat with a 115 Opti, and it's still pretty slow.
  8. Several weeks ago, I registered to fish in the Bassmaster Southern Open at Douglas Lake, TN as a co-angler. I got my tournament packet in the mail today. I'm so freakin' excited! I don't know how I'm going to make it until June.
  9. I've always liked Shaw Grigsby. His book Bassmaster has traveled with me to Korea and Iraq (twice), and I never get tired of reading it.
  10. PM me tomorrow. I'll be happy to take a look at it and possibly do some editing for you. Mondays are my slowest days (crazy right?), so I should have plenty of time available.
  11. I understand that you're limited to 350 words, but I think I would still put it in essay format. Right now, it just says that you like to fish. You hinted around about why you enjoy it, now you should elaborate. Chances are good that whoever judges this will know nothing about fishing. They don't realize that while they look across a body of water and see waves and boats and ducks, you see cover and structure and fish. They don't know that you can't sleep the night before a fishing trip because every time you close your eyes you see a bass busting a topwater. Make them understand, and your paper will be on their minds when it's time to pick a winner.
  12. Well, the first thing I noticed is that it's not really an essay. It's just three paragraphs. Your're competing for a scholarship in an essay contest, so you need to make sure your paper is in essay format. I. Introduction A. Subject B. Main Points C. THESIS II. Point One A. Intro and explanation of point B. Evidence C. How point relates to thesis III. Point Two A. Intro and explanation of point B. Evidence C. How point relates to thesis IV. Point Three A. Intro and explanation of point B. Evidence C. How point relates to thesis V. Conclusion A. Restate subject B. Summarize Main Points C. Restate THESIS
  13. Are you looking for constructive criticism before you submit this, or are you just sharing it with us?
  14. It normally only takes a few hours, but now I can leave my onboard charger plugged in all day and it will never stop charging. It actually may stop, but the fully charged light never comes on. I know it's charging because the battery was totally discharged, and after charging I was able to fish for several hours without the battery dying. Is this a sign of a problem with my charger, or is it more likely an indication of a worn out battery? I'm going to hook up my portable charger to see if it fully charges the battery, but I was just wondering if anyone had dealt with this before.
  15. I used my 1999 income tax refund to buy a Nova 1436 jonboat and trailer and a 30 lb motorguide trolling motor.
  16. I've been using baitcasters for over 20 years, and I get my fair share of backlashes. I can't believe I've never seen that thumb trick before.
  17. Sweet! Thanks, River Rat!
  18. Did they ever name a winner?
  19. Did I miss something?
  20. Top: ODlicious (olive drab) Bottom: Hot Garbage
  21. Cool name, but Pop N Drops are lame, bro. You should be thinking bigger. MICLIC!
  22. Larry Mitchell 9805 E. Clover Creek Dr. Claremore, OK 74017 Phone: 918-341-4523 Cell: 918-231-5696 Thanks, I didn't realize that you couldn't get back to the homepage from there. This is a better link: http://www.imaginationbassin.com/gblanks.htm Anyway, I love G-Blanks rods. I have 12 tournament rods, and 9 of them are G-Blanks.
  23. This is my 12 year old daughter, Samantha, with an Oklahoma farm pond bass. She's been fishing with me her whole life, but this was her first time targeting bass with baitcasting gear.
