  1. I've use Ande line one time in my life, but it just happened to be the day I caught my biggest fish. 30# Ande line landed me an 89# spoonbill (paddlefish) when I was 22 years old. I only fish freshwater, so I'm sure I'll never break that personal record.
  2. I don't have a 2010 Premier, but I have a 2009. I know that they're not exactly the same reel, but I like it better than the Curado.

  4. I did notice the Bass Resource ad in the back.
  5. I picked one up a Gander Mountain the other day. It was the first time I'd ever seen it. It made decent toilet reading material, but I won't be subscribing.
  6. Be sure to add a few Shad Raps to your collection. I like the balsa SR7s the best.
  7. What insurance company are you using for your boat, and why did you choose them? It's almost time for me to renew my insurance, and I'm just curious about what else is out there.
  8. Excellent point! I sprained my right ankle in Iraq, and I never had it looked at. I didn't have the luxury of taking a day or two off, and I wasn't about to send my Soldiers into sector while I stayed back, so I sucked it up and drove on. We were spending five or six hours a day doing foot patrols and wearing a ton of gear, and it took weeks for the swelling to go down. Nowadays, I get pains in my ankle almost everyday, and sometimes it hurts just to stand. Take care of your body. You'll have to live with it long after your lacrosse playing days are over.

Out of curiosity, is that short barrel legal?
  10. How do you prepare physically for a long tournament? Exercises, nutrition, etc...
  11. Of the two choices you gave, I'd pick "sick gill", but it looks more like "morning after" to me.

Nicotine gum did the trick for me. I smoked and dipped for nearly 20 years, but I've been tobacco free for since March 2009.
  13. Man, I bought some of those Frenzy hard baits back when they first came out, and I don't think I ever caught a fish on one.
  14. I haven't tried Stubb's BBQ sauce, but the steak and chicken marinade is awesome.
  15. It was just a thought. I belong to a gun dog forum that has a live chat. I don't think it's moderated, but I've never seen it get vulgar.
  16. Why doesn't Bass Resource have a live chat room? With as many people as we have logged on here at any given time, I'm sure it would be a popular feature.
  17. I do too! They used to make a 6" craw worm (I don't remember what it was called) that I loved.
  18. The Black Max does have a flippin' switch. The Diawa Viento that JimmyMo3287 recommended has a twitchin' bar.
  19. ww2farmer, you beat me to it! I can't speak for the Black Max, but I do agree with you about the Quantum Accurist PT. I had a couple of those for a few years, and they were great reels for the price. I handed them down, and they're still in use.
  20. I'm trying to figure out how to fish this thing. Here is Tackle Warehouse's description: "Invented by Jackall Japan and now available in the States, the Jackall Seira Minnow 80S is part of Jackall's I-Motion series. A popular technique in Japan, I-Motion basically means the lure swims in a perfectly straight line, like a minnow would that is not being threatened. Said to attract bass that are looking for an easy meal from unsuspecting prey, the Seira Minnow features several innovations that allow it to stay balanced and track perfectly straight. A specially cut hole in the bait's mouth funnels water out slits in the bait's gills, helping to stabilize the bait and provide added realism, while an advanced weight transfer system locks the bearing in place during the retrieve, but still allows it to transfer to the tail for extra long casts. Even the custom designed, glued feather tail helps keep the bait stable, functioning almost as a rudder. Available in several proven colors, the Jackall Seira Minnow offers another innovative way to get those finicky and pressured fish to bite." It looks like a jerbait, but I would think that jerking on it would defeat the purpose. So... do you fish this like a jerbait or more like a crankbait or what? Any ideas?
  21. I have a couple of Browning Safari travel rods, and they're pretty decent little rods for the money. I have a 7' MH baitcaster and a 6'6" ML spinning rod. They come with a rod tube, and either of them would fit in a suitcase.
  22. There are a lot of great articles on this site. Here are a couple to get you started. http://www.bassresource.com/fish/reels.html http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/reel_selection.html
  23. Thses guys will build you just about anything you want at a very reasonable price. http://www.imaginationbassin.com/gblanks.htm
