  1. Usually I use my 7' M/F PR 844c. I'm interested in seeing the replies in this thread.
  2. Actually, I bought the L&L to try on my mono and Co-poly lines.
  3. I tried reel magic in the past with no real results too. But thanks to this thread I stopped at Sportsman's Warehouse on the way home and bought a bottle of KVD L&L. And a spool of Sufix 832. With all due respect, I really hate you guys
  4. The warm weather starts here today too. As far as the rods go, don't get caught up overthinking everything. Not that I don't do it too, LOL. Fish them both and see which one is best for you. Get outside and have some fun, that's what it's all about!
  5. I have a new IMX-PRO. I've fished it side by side with an older GLX. There really is no comparison between them. The IMX-PRO is a much better rod. I can't say that about the new GLX rods as I haven't fished one yet.
  6. If my gear is good it's one less variable. If I don't have to worry about it I'll concentrate better and have more fun. So yeah, it helps.
  7. I have the 853c. It's an outstanding rod.
  8. You'll get a lot of recommendations for a Dobyns Fury. Nice rods.
  9. This is my first season with a dedicated slop rod. I went with a Daiwa Fuego CT 8.1
  10. The only time I've seen them get nasty is while their nesting. They WILL come after you. Just give them some room and it's usually OK. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't hang around if you smacked them upside the head with a rod if needed.
  11. Over the Bass X? LOL. But by going with a NRX & GlX instead? Absolutely.
  12. Thanks man. I screwed up though... I was looking at the 702s Sierra, not the Savvy.
  13. @fishnkamp What's the reason for that? I was thinking about getting a 702S in the Savvy series. Is there really not enough difference to warrant the cash between it & the Fury?
  14. Lifetime warranty on the Dobyns too.
  15. G Loomis IMX-PRO 853c JWR 7'1" MH/XF with a Shimano Curado HGK G Loomis PR 844c M/F with a Abu Garcia Revo S G Loomis E6X 842s SJR M/F with a Daiwa BG 2500 Dobyns Fury 735c with a Daiwa Fuego CT. Also a Abu Garcia 4600 cb for when I use small swimbaits. Dobyns Fury 795 SB with a Shimano Cardiff 300A
  16. You guys seem to really like the Yo-Zuri. I tried it when it first came out and I remember it had a TON of memory. Was it once like that or did I get a bad spool away back when? I picked up a couple spools of 12 lb CXX last week. I haven't spooled it up yet. How does it compare to Yo-Zuri?
  17. I'll second this all day long. I'd rather have 2 Fuegos than one Tatula.
  18. If it's what you have to work with, go fish it and find out! Win win!
  19. Trilene XL is what I started bass fishing with about 35 years ago. Then once when the store was out I tried Ande. I stuck with it ever since. The last couple of seasons I've been using Siege for my 8 & 10 lb needs. But for my 12 lb and heavier mono's I've stuck with Ande.
  20. Your buddy should have let the air out of your trailer tires ...
  21. I'd put the Revo on the Lew's rod, worm / jig setup. Use the other setup for cranks, chatterbaits, lighter plastics, spinnerbaits, etc. Get a medium spinning rod for the lighter stuff and go fish! Or just hang around here and buy 6 different setups for every day of the week.
