Trailer winch strap loosens
Last two trips my boat trailer winch strap has loosened while traveling home. Before leaving the ramp parking lot, I ensure strap is pulled all the way up, boat bow is resting on roller. No wiggle room, tighter than "dick's hat band". Additionally, boat buckles tightly secured at transom. The roads here in Hamilton County Tennessee or horrible and I drive with extreme caution. My winch strap was replaced probably three (3) years ago. This has never happened before. Think I need a new winch? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

How do you cope with no anti-reverse switch on new spinning reels?
Same here. I do not back reel. I only use the AR switch when I need to pull line off the spool to re tie or change lures. I have the Stradic and Vanford and I really miss that quick, convenient feature. Opening the bail or changing the drag to pull line off is a real pain. (no pun intended)

How technique specific are your rods
many years ago, when Browning was making fishing rods or whomever was making them for them, I purchased a baitcaster and spinning rod. Absolutely loved these rods. Still have the spinning rod (crappie). Heading out to the Chick in am. I have 14 (fourteen) rods rigged in my rod locker. Megabass Orochi's; Levante's; Cashion; Shimano Expride B; Duckett Micro Magic. Oh my, how things have changed.

What’s your favorite rod manufacturer ?
Megabass and Shimano Expride B

Levante Perfect Pitch? You’re using it how?
5–6-inch swimbaits. I throw magdrafts with the Orochi XX Perfect Pitch works well for me.

Gear ration for lipless crankbait
wow, thanks for all the responses, as always, great advice. I appreciate it. Like most of you, I suspect, I don't need any more reels, I just want a couple more Shimano's.

Gear ration for lipless crankbait
what gear ratio do you prefer for lipless crankbaits? Jackall TN 70/LV 500. And while I'm inquiring, I might as well get your opinion on small square bills. ATV 1.5. I'll be thanking you.

Shimano Curado 300 K- Humminbird Mega 360
Not sure how to do that. Unless you are talking about taking picture or video with iPhone. Additionally, not sure when I can get back out on the lake. I got food plots to put out in Tn. Ky. and In. Thank you.- Humminbird Mega 360

thanks for the response. I knew this would be difficult to explain. Essentially, stationary targets are not displayed on graph in relation to where they actually are. I know unequivocally there is a laydown 20 feet directly in front of my boat, however, my 360 might show it to port, starboard or aft of boat instead of dead ahead.- Humminbird Mega 360
Had subject installed on boat earlier this year. I believe it is the newest version, not in position to check at this point. I will try my best to explain what I experienced all day yesterday while fishing. I found two (2) big trees or logs in lake. I could not see any branches. In any event they were not moving. I viewed them on SI and DI. However, when I located them with my Mega 360 and attempted to line up on them, the graph would show them in different positions. They were dead ahead of me and I would move really slow toward them. At one point they would be displayed to starboard, then port and behind me on display. I tried this numerous times on other stationary objects with the same results. I hope this makes sense. Any thoughts? Thanks.- Best chance at a 10 pounder in Kentucky or Tennessee?
very true. The Chick gets pounded. Not just by fisherman. The recreational boaters in the summer months are insane. If you go, keep your head on a swivel. Big yachts coming out of the big marina will swamp you. Not to mention the wake boats. Not relaxing at all.- Riddle Me This Batman
I know Matt Allen from Tactical Bassin promotes the color "June Bug". If you select and buy something from his Tackle Warehouse link, he receives a percentage. I have watched several tubers that do this, admittingly.- Spunkshad
I also rig with Core Tackle Hover Rig or Ultimate Swimbait head.- Favorite tackle shop?
The only place to buy minnows. Great shop. I also go to "Fishtales" in Cleveland, Tn. Tank has loads of tackle. His store puts Bass Pro Shop to shame.- Navigating this site
I can believe it. I'm so pleased that I could help.- Navigating this site
That makes absolutely no sense at all. I subscribe to numerous hunting and fishing and RV forums, and NONE do this. I suspect most if not all users scroll down to bottom of a page before selecting to go to the next. No big deal. It is nevertheless, antithetical. I feel certain that is how it is was designed and intended to work. Thanks. could possibly be my laptop. It has done this from day one. Just thought it was odd. No big deal, I can live with it. - Swimbait/Glidebait Reel
