  1. I've had some success with the fat free shads, and the strike king pro model series 6 crankbaits. They work and won't break the bank.
  2. I use a 7'3 MHF carrot stix with a Core 100 mgfv for pitching and flipping. I like a burner reel for flippin so I can turn the fish faster. That may be just me I dont know. So basically what I'm saying is upgrade the citica to a Curado E7 and I think you will have one sweet setup.
  3. Thank you for your opinion.
  4. That really sucks they are not stocking the trout anymore. However, I am looking at it from a different perspective. Since Cali is not stocking the trout anymore, you should have a better chance of catching those 18+ fish that are used to eating the trout. With less trout to feed off of your trout swimbaits should be more enticing to those big girls.
  5. Less than this year probably, since I spent like $2500 on rods and reels this year. I don't think I will be purchasing any of those this year. So I said $500-1000, that will cover most of the baits and whatever else I need. Although, I am going for a job interview on Wed. if I get this job then it will substantially higher because i will have a bass boat.
  6. Ok well I guess the 50mg has it. What is wrong with the 100B?
  7. light stuff like what? weightless trick worms or small cranks? what rod would you pair it with?
  8. Well let me start out by saying for the last month instead of spending my free time on the lake, I have been building a privacy fence for my girlfriend. So I have only got to fish once or two days instead of twenty. My girlfriend realizing the sacrifice I made to complete this project has told me she will get me anything I want for fishing up to $200 for x-mas. What a woman! So I'm trying to figure out what I want. The chronarchs are on clearance for $180 thats one option and I'm also considering a new Curado but I have 2 200D's (5.1 and 7.1). I love them and they aren't even a year old so I probably won't upgrade them. I have heard nothing but good things about the Chronarchs and am really looking at them. Both models are the same price and same gear ratio, but is there a better choice. I'm not really sure what I would be using it for? I will probably use it for throwing shallow cranks and jerkbaits. But I don't know. Tell me what you guys think about each and what you use them for. Thanks
  9. Sam, You can get that pic off of Ike's website, as well as a few others.
  10. Yeah I've tried that to with my curado 5:1 but I just couldn't get used to it.
  11. Good deal but it would be better suited for a deep diving crankbait reel with that gear ratio.
  12. shimano crucial crankbait rod. nuff said. It's a great rod. I have the 7' MH for big cranks. They run $130-$150.
  13. Sweet $100 a piece. Looks like I found my christmas present.
  14. Dave Chappelle George Carlin Lisa Lampanelli Bob Saget.... J/K
  15. Oh and one other thing, could this setup double as a big striper rig?
  16. Thanks for the advice fellas. The big bait posse may have had some effect on my choice to start swimbaiting. Mainly, though I know there are some big bass here in TN and I want to catch them. I think I am going to get a calcutta 400B, and the okuma rod. I'll post some pics of it when I get it early next year. Oh yeah, any recommendations on line?
  17. What is the model number of the Loomis rod? What lure weight should I look for. I plan on buying some tru-tungsten tru lifes, mattlures, lucky craft supreme 200, and lunker punkers?
  18. I know Kurt Warner has better stats, he's thrown for 300+ yds in 45% the games hes played in during his career and he is still doing it this year. He also has better recievers to throw to, but the titans recievers are starting to come together. And they are looking more like a multi-dimensional offense now. Kerry Collins has proven the last two weeks that he can still throw effectively, and manage the game. Until today, I didn't think he could still throw the deep ball but he did, and he threw it to a reciever who has hands like bricks all season. I don't think he will win MVP if they lose, but if they win the super bowl he definately needs to be considered.
  19. I'm looking to put together a swimbait combo during the cold weather months for next season. I am looking to spend no more than $400-500, but I think I can get it done for less than that. I have 3 reels I am looking into a shimano Calcutta 400B, Calcutta 400TE, or another possibility would be a curado 300D if I can find it on clearance for less than $200. Of these three what would be my best choice? How much does gear ratio play into swimbaiting? The calcutta's are 5.0:1 and the curado is 6.2:1. Also, the rods I am looking into are the St. Croix Mojo, Shimano crucial, and the Okuma guide series? Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Thanks.
  20. Go Titans! "We won't be 1 yard short against the Giants! " I won't know what to do if they meet in the Super Bowl, being from NY but living in Nashville for the last 15 years. I'll have to flip a quarter or something. LOL ;D
  21. Blah..... Go Kerry Collins!
  22. I use a 7'3" MH carrot stix, it is very stout, and gives me a very strong hook set even on long casts.
