  1. I will definately have a jerkbait tied on at all times. I've never used the float and fly before, I may have a pick up a new combo before I go. Could I just use a fly rod with a spinning reel?
  2. I am fishing a friendly tournament on Dale Hollow the last weekend in February. I've never fished Dale this early in the year and I am wondering what I should focus on. I'm assuming by that time the smallies will be moving into their pre-spawn areas. That of course, will be determined by the weather we have here until then. What type of structure should I focus on.
  3. I also have the 6'8 crucial and it is a great rod for ds as well as shakey heads, tubes and small jigs. I too wanted the 7'2 when I was making the purchase but bass pro didn't carry them in store and I didn't have enough time to order it.
  4. FI is the new model. I bought mine off ebay for that much last january. Thats a good price.
  5. Pineapple Express
  6. I just looked at the picture gallery on his website and found a picture of my neighbor holding a 5# bass. I'll ask him what he thought about the guide and get back to you.
  7. There's a TV show in Nashville called Wood's and Water. They did a show about Guntersville and their guide was called the spinnerbait kid. He's the only one I've heard of. http://www.spinnerbaitkid.com/
  8. To go a step further they are on an end cap right next to the reel counter. As far as how good the store is I don't know I've never been to another one. I do know they don't have certain items that other stores in the area carry like Dick's or Academy.
  9. Yes, they are I bought one there last Sunday.
  10. The symetre is a good reel for the price, but if I was putting something on a carrot stix it would have to be lighter than the symetre. So my vote goes for the stradic 2500FI.
  11. I've got a new stradic 2500 paired with a crucial drop shot rod and it is awesome. It works great for weightless plastics, DS, and shakey heads. You'll love it.
  12. it would be perfect
  13. Hey thats not too far from me, I may have to make a trip there this year.
  14. I was wondering if they were holding the TN fishing expo at the fairgrounds again this year. It is usually the first couple weekend in January but I haven't heard anything yet. Only thing I've seen was the boat show at municipal auditorium next weekend, but I thought it was usually towards the end of the month or even in Feb.

I have already looked at the cost of making these jigs. That is not an issue. I was just looking for some pointers. I will check out that website and get back to you bowtech. Thanks

I'm looking for a way to get rid of cabin fever. So I have been thinking about making my own jigs. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I will probably be making mostly football jigs and shakey heads, but may go for flippin jigs or arkie heads. Also, is it possible to get tungsten? I know it would be really expensive but I am curious. What is a good paint to buy?
  19. I'm not even sure if they still make the spinnerbaits. I have not seen them in wal mart for quite a while now.
  20. I had a few like that from WalMart with the screw lock for trailers they were made by renegade.
  21. Yeah I tested it out yesterday and caught one dink on it. The dink was however, the biggest bass I've ever caught in that particular pond so I guess it worked well. It is very light even with both balls in. I felt my MH crucial rod was too much rod for the bait. Without the balls I think it would be a challenge to throw on that setup. It would be more suited for a medium or maybe even a ML action casting rod. At any rate the bait swims great and doesn't roll over when burning it across the top.
  22. Welcome from middle tn
  23. there probably aren't any left, the 15lber's ate all them little smallies. LOL ;D
  24. First let me say I do not know anything about these reels. However, I would think it would be wiser to ask a question like this first, and then make your decision to buy it. It would save you money in the long run, instead of buying a junk reel, breaking it and having to buy another reel after a short time. JMHO
  25. Can anyone tell me the weight of these baits, with both balls and without? I looked at their website but couldn't find any info like that. I'm assuming I will be alright throwing it on a 7' MH 1/4-1oz rod?
