  1. Only for tournaments.....
  2. Didn't think that was final yet but I may have missed an update, there was a whole lot of other tidal water tournament rules to do into effect also, waivers that have to be signed by each participant, each 5lb+ fish in its own weigh bag, returning fish to livewell for a certain period of time before they are released after weighin..... Need to go back thru and get updates.
  3. well until the temp drops later this week... this is to early, gets into the upper 70's tomorrow. Storms roll thru and the next day is over 20 degrees cooler. these big swings are not good.
  4. I do the same things with the Ardent Culling balls as WIGuide, works great. Maryland is trying to make the piercing ones illegal along with lifting the fish by the culling system.
  5. I disconnect, mounts will hold during trailering by why risk damage from debris kicked up from the road?
  6. CAPS fan here... so noone mention the p word..
  7. Been an interesting day, Ott gets another big one like he just got and it will be very interesting.
  8. They do not inflate in the rain, have to be submerged to dissolve the pill and inflate.
  9. There are trails around pretty much the whole lake, just need to be comfortable walking thru the woods to get down to lake side. My only suggestion would be to walk away from the easy spots, they get pounded but you can find some good areas. There is the boat ramp, obviously, to launch a kayak. You can also do it easily at the bridge which crosses over it, nice parking area and access. Its only 5 bucks to launch. During the summer it does not get dark until 8:30 or so, well after rush hour. Also, once a month there is night fishing on a Wednesday you can stay until 11 or midnight I forget which it is.
  10. 4 more days and Black Hills opens for the season..... Put in group 31 agm batteries so will have plenty of battery power to have some fun.
  11. Fully honest answer.....do the first season as a coangler. You will learn so much and be better prepared to be a boater.
  12. Chevy vs. Ford discussion.... No set answer, it is personal preference.
  13. See pinned article in this section of the forums.... You are using an ****....
  14. Took my RT188 out for a 3 day weekend, had some great fishing but had a performance issue that I am not sure what is going on so need ideas. The issue is the hole shot, when I did break it the boat jumped onto plane very fast. And at WOT ran 47 mph at 5800 rpm. Now the hole shot takes a few seconds where the motor seems to be bogged down, then it hits a point the motor goes from being bogged to winding up RPM's very quickly and the boat jumps onto plane. A couple times it took multiple attempts to get on plane. At WOT speed was 41mph at 5100rpm. The things that changed were changing batters which added 60lbs, changed props from the stock aluminum 4 blade 19pitch to a Spitfire X7 19pitch solid plugs in, and instead being by myself I had a co. I know the added weight would be a concern but was a big difference. I am wondering if something is wrong. My rt188 has a 2015 Mercury Pro XS 115hp 2 stroke
  15. fishing as a co is not an issue if you do not go in with reasonable expectations. Take it as a learning experience and you will become a far better angler. You have to learn to adjust to the conditions you have, part of that is not fresh water. And there are plenty of fish to get caught from back there. Think of different angles to cast, different presentations. I learned more in one season doing this then 30 years of fishing before. You cannot think the boater is going to lower his opportunities just to make it easier on you. They are there to fish and do the best they can not to guide you. Now if you are fishing a club where they boaters and coanglers are competing against each other and you do not split time in the front then you need to find a different club.
  16. Speaking as a co-angler (switching to boater this year)....they are not your guide, he does not owe you fresh water to fish. Part of being a co is figuring out your shots and adjusting to what cast you are getting. Same goes for telling him about your "hot spot" and they do not move. It is there boat it is up to them to decide where to fish, some will take input some will not. It is their choice. Now back boating you is a different story, I am sure each club will handle it differently. Some pro tours have rules where the boater will be dq'ed if they are caught doing it. It can be a huge point of argument with some people, careful in who and how you are bring it up. In my 6 years as a co I only had it done to me twice.
  17. short answer - RUN Long answer - RUN LIKE THE WIND
  18. First thing I would do is get that trolling motor upgraded to a 24v unit with as much thrust as possible.
  19. Local clubs tend to enjoy having co-anglers, a lot are not FLW or BASS affiliated so you can have some fun with the tourneys. I would suggest looking for one in your area to start out.
  20. Sorry for your loss Burtonxj Crockpots are your friend, you can do a lot of things with them and makes it easier to have decent dinners for after work. I hate grocery shopping
  21. I think you may be surprised at the number of guys here that cook/bake, less and less guys are playing the weaker gender and not being able to feed themselves
  22. Kaptag, the new Pro XS is a 4 stroke, this started with 2016 models.
  23. Nice truck, take care of it and it will last a long long time
  24. RT188 is a great boat, great storage, rod locker for 8ft 6in rods, stable, and Ranger quality. You would not be disappointment with it. Paired with a 115hp it will run upper 40's out of the box.
