  1. Oh come on Long Mike, you don't want that added security when you tie into the world record smallie???? It was a copy/paste from the other site, read straight over that typo. Just putting a little tease on here about the smallie fishing in May at Pickwick.
  2. Found this bit of information to get everyone excited on the Tennessee Fishing Reports page... "Pickwick Lake in May From massive Pickwick Lakes upper lake headwaters, to the lower lakes deeper creeks, the fishing is exceptional for smallmouth bass, spotted bass and largemouth bass in May. May is often noted as "the" topwater month. But on Pickwick Lake, May also shows bass holding in areas that brought them shallow a few months ago, as they leave the shallow water and head back to deeper water, usually around the first week of June. During these transition times try fishing midlake areas, far back up in creeks, or midways, around first and secondary creek points. Fish with deepdiving Excaliber Fat Free shad crankbaits in midtodeep running models. Spro's crankbait 25 series in baby bass colors are also excellent running crankbaits. Jerkbaits always generate a few strikes from all species of bass during May. Some bass, suspending away from the bank, will nail fast, erratic retrieves with these injured baitfish imitating lures. These anxious and hungry fish can be enticed with fast, erratic stopandgo retrieves. Try Trilene Big Game 1015 lb. test monofilament line on these jerkbaits, along with other floating model jerkbaits. Storm's Suspend Dots and Suspend Strips will make floating model jerkbait lures suspend. Experiment, for every lure takes different amounts of added weight to attain perfect suspending qualities. Pickwick lakes lower end has lots of grass and in Spring, like on other Tennessee River lakes, lure choice can vary. Buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, shallowrunning crankbaits, rattletraps, super spots, floating worms, lizards, soft jerkbaits, frogs and rats, all bring surprising results. Try these and other lures in and around, the many varieties of grass, that bass inhabit on Pickwick Lake, this Spring."
  3. Congrats!!!!!!
  4. I have not started that one, saw how addicting it became for my wife. I am just glad there is nothing like the "bait monkey" for that game.....
  5. There is modest gains in all 3 of those, the starting point is a cold air intake and performance exhaust. After that the tuners work a lot better.
  6. Sounds like a great time, talking with the boss about it. Her mother lives about an hour away from the lake so it would be a combo trip. Just would like to room with someone to save some money, I would take a sleeping bag and crash on the floor to make this trip happen. Also, would need to ride shotgun on someone's boat...
  7. Got to love the non-traditional weddings, at mine last year we had one of my dart teammates get ordained so he could do the ceremony. It was in the yard of a B&B on the Chesapeake. As we walked up for the ceremony everyone started doing the wave, they heckled us thru the ceremony, we told everyone it would be a weekend to enjoy, not get all up tight about whether everything would work out. We had so much fun we are going back in two weeks with a good portion of the friends who were at the ceremony to celebrate our first anniversary.
  8. Well its not exactly what you are looking at but close enough for some thoughts. I have a 2007 Xterra, same engine, transmission, frame as the Pathfinder only a little shorter. I beat that thing up and have never had a problem with it. The engine is the VQ-V6 4 liter version, this setup has been on the May's (engine manufacturer's group) top 10 list for 12 years, most engine's don't last that long let alone be top 10. The frame is the one developed for the Titan, its very strong. The Pathfinder adds some length so it has some added space, and if you want even more power then the 260HP/280lb-ft V6 on new Pathfinder models you can choose the 5.6l V8 from the Titan. The Pathfinder is a choice you would not regret.
  9. I was trying a Rage Toad over the grass but was not getting any looks, and tried a jig/craw around the laydowns also. This has worked on other trips, actually the first 20in this year was on the Rage Toad, but this trip got nothing until I broke down and went with the senko. Been relying to much on the senko so was trying to stay away from it but when all else kept failing I went back to it. Dan, the two parts of the I fish is at Dickerson, and Pennyfield Lock. These fish were from Pennyfield. And you are correct you would need a MD license to fish the canal, a VA is okay for the Potomac.
  10. MskSlyr, yeah the canals have been pretty good to me this year. Not having to much luck everywhere else right now. Still haven't got a good plan for fishing weeds and deeper water. Before this year I had one fish over 20 inches, 23 1/2 inch. This year I have 3, all out of the canal. The water is getting a little rough the weeds are taking over the places were I have been getting my better fish. Have to change my approach to get down to the fish.
  11. how far is not to far? I am in Montgomery County so not overly familiar with Baltimore but I am sure we can figure something.
  12. Took a walk today along the C&O Canal, because they were calling for storms so did not want to take the boat out. It proved to be a good thing, after a slow start was able to get into some good bass. Including two 21in LM, this beats my PB for 09 which stood at 20in. Also added a 17in and a 15in, and the usual dinks. The one picture was taking by a passerby walking the canal, was not lucky on the other. All fish were caught on senko's and up tight to submerged trees.
  13. Actually it looks like a largemouth, pic is a little dark though. Hey, its a caught fish no matter what the size they are fun.
  14. Well on second thought.... checked the weather for tomorrow, the storms are the late in the day variety I thought. They are starting in the morning, so I am not taking the boat out. Time for some more bank fishing, hopefully I can get out of my slump and get a few before the storms hit. Anyone else going out?
  15. Been very slow the last few weeks, haven't been skunked yet but only 1 or 2 small bass. Been trying everything I can think of with the same results. Hopefully my trip to the river tomorrow will give me some good smallie action. Thinking about taking some bait for catfish with me just in case I get to one of the deep holes and want to anchor. Debating because I have not had the boat in the river before so other thought is to stick with bass while I go around learning the river.....
  16. I would not have an issue buying another pflueger, I can say it would not be a criterion or other cheap model. I have heard a lot of good things about their other products, the criterion is just not a good one.
  17. bama, I solved the problem with the criterion by getting a Revo S and sending the criterion to the closet. Right out of the box the Revo performed outstanding. No matter how much I played with the brakes on the criterion it never would work well, I would get a couple cast in then back to backlashes.
  18. There is no such thing as bad publicity, not matter how stupid something sounds it is still getting people to talk about them, to look at their website. The more people talk to better it is for them no matter what the talk is about......
  19. I am glad to see someone not being vanilla, and pc about things. Mir was acting like a fool before the match with some very childish taunting in interviews and such. When you taunt someone who is bigger and better then you don't expect them to pc after pounding you. Lesner should have won the first one if it was not for an idiot ref who made a habit of screwing up big matches.
  20. it should be fine, just be careful if it starts to get windy.....

There is no such thing as an accidental affair. They may have not had that intention at first, but it was a decision both made to do the deed. Alcohol is no excuse either. To me affairs are one of the worst things someone can do to someone else (I said one of, no need to start listing other things which are worse). With that being said, I am not going to limit my life or my wifes life to having friends of only the same sex. I have female friends, she has guy friends, but we are both mature enough to understand how to act. Only on one occasion have I had to end a friendship, she made some comments hinting at the wrong thing for friends, I have not spoke to her since which has been about 3 years.
  22. Here is the general description of the scam.... Basically it goes like this, someone post a legit sale of a car, boat or whatever high dollar item. The "bad" person takes it, creates a new "sale", lowers the price and starts posting it all over the country. When people contact them instead of the normal pickup they say they will start an private Ebay auction so you can have a secured buy. Only problem is the Ebay site they send you is a fake and all the information you send is collected by the counterfeit seller. There are variations to this but this is the general method.
  23. Honestly would have to say no, the CRV wouldn't handle either boat. Power, braking, and control of the trailer would all be issues. The Stratos would be about the same. A small jon maybe, but wouldn't go over 14ft.
  24. Personally don't think a little constructive criticism would bother to many people unless they are so immature the help wouldn't work anyway. So, along those lines there is also ways to render the assistance and ways not to. If you as the writer of the criticism doesn't think they are being a jerk doesn't necessarily mean the other person will think the same way, its a fine line. But will have to say feel free to point out when I do something stupid, again. Only way to get better is to know were you are messing up...
  25. Yes he was accused of some horrible things, and by most people thoughts he was guilty. However in death most people will tend to look at the good a person did, not on the bad. I am not religious at all but still believe he faced his own judgment in life and has earned the right to rest in piece. And no not trying to flame, your view is just as justifiable as any expressed here. There is no reason to flame you for it.
