  1. Nice one basser....I am jealous....
  2. Well I am at work....as for actually working that is a stretch.....
  3. Can't go wrong with the BPS ProLite on a 6ft 9in ML BPS Pro Finesse rod. Find myself using it more and more. I currently have 6lb Yo-Zuri on it.
  4. You don't like water? ;D not when I want a good beer.....
  5. Yeungling, Harp, a good hefeweizen... Just not anything with no color, and no taste....
  6. Basser, I was debating Black Hills or Dickerson on sunday but decided Dickerson. Evan, the discharge is a pretty good ways up. But about half way up it starts to pick up, well at least in colder weather. Right now it should be decent the whole way up. Hardest part is just finding places to fish thru the trees. Oddly enough I bet the ones you saw rolling were catfish. I keep seeing them do it there for some reason. Caught a 25in catfish after casting into an area it was happening.
  7. Welcome to the forums Evan!!! I was at dickerson on sunday, got nothing out of the canal but did pretty well at the warm water discharge. No big ones, but got about 15 smallies in a couple hours, biggest was about 13inches.
  8. I will be heading down 81 from hagerstown, I may end up having my wife with me though. If not I will have a spot or possibly join up with someone... not to worry though, if she is with me I will drop the wife at her mothers just outside of nashville.
  9. I have that exact rod and put a BPS prolite finesse reel on it and love it. First fish on it was a nice fat 20.25in largemouth and the setup handled it without issue.
  10. Yeah, I read it, just giving my thoughts. My time in road racing was spent as a corner worker then as a emergency vehicles driver. Only green track time was spent running a full size truck to where a car needed pulled from a gravel trap. Or if I was working corners running across it.... ;D Would have loved to race myself but never had the money.
  11. Oh I have been around road course racing for over 20 years, no research necessary. In my opinion, your description of the cobalt is a glowing neon sign of what caused the problems with domestic cars. Throwing a higher hp engine in a crappy package, yeah it post some good times but obvious poor fit and finish turns people away. I am not paying good money for cheap fit/finish just because someone put a higher hp engine in. There used to be a yugo with 200 hp and over 1g on the skidpad, which is impressive but still a yugo.
  12. D4u2s0t, what car is the cobalt ss faster then that cost 3x as much??
  13. Just a dime a dozen person who things they are tough for taking cheap shots at other players. Has no place in any sport.
  14. Not being to up on how these baits are poured in bulk. I wonder if it would be possible to design something were the tentacles are not smooth but have some time of ribbed design to affect the water flow across them? Or pock marked?
  15. My biggest surprise when fishing for crappie was a 36in tiger musky. Not sure why he bit on the little 2in grub but turned out to be a fun fight. The bonus was it was the first fish I caught in my boat.
  16. I use my Blackberry Storm to connect to BR all the time. Although not with the standard browser, I loaded Opera Mini which works a lot better.
  17. 714, congrats on the smallie!!! 18in is a real good fish for the upper potomac. Hoping to get out myself next wednesday, its veterans day and working for the government I have the day off. I will be really happy to get an 18in smallie.
  18. To funny Basser89, yeah I love that tree, never seems to fail me. No matter how slow it is usually can get at least one fish there, unless I mess it up. Nice rig there Ed, hopefully in spring I can get into a "new" boat myself. But will have to see how things work out. Mostly fish electric only lakes, with a couple trips to the Potomac. Not sure what I want yet.
  19. Hey Ed, WWD = Warm Water Discharge. so yeah they are referring to the power plant.
  20. Well Monday was my first day with this setup. But will use it for unweighted plastics and small cranks. Was using 5 inch senko Monday and caught a 20.25 inch largemouth on it. I have it spooled with 6lb yozuri hybrid.
  21. I have the 6ft 9in ml fast with a bps prolite on it and I love it.
  22. Basser714, not sure what spot you are referring to. Also, where were you getting the bass with the health issues. I have not caught any with problems. Was good to make it out with Basser89 last night, although as he said we didn't exactly tear them up it was a good evening to be out. Both of the fish I caught were on a green Senko, was casting out long and in the area I was at I got beyond the weed growth. The bites seemed to be right before my retrieve got to the edge of the weeds. Once into the weeds I got nothing.
  23. Gee thanks RW, now I want to get there even more....... Thanks for the information, I have fished a large lake like this. Should be very interesting.
  24. Now that I found the heated water I fish in Maryland year round. Was out in January when it was 25 degree out getting 15-18 smallmouth's. So far have caught bass every month this year, going to keep that going as long as possible...
  25. Welcome Steve, you came to the right place to talk bass fishing. I live between Black Hills and Clopper. I spend more time at Black Hills but if there are any questions please let me know, I will answer everything the best way I can. There are some real good guys on here who can tell you all kind of information.
