do rods weaken
I don't think they necessarily "weaken" but to make the higher end rods lighter and more sensitive they are a little more fragile. Getting chipped and hit causes a weak point which can break. But any decent rod will last over 10 years if taken care of.

Maryland's Who's who!

Maryland's Who's who!
I would not have guessed some of those findings. Water always seems so clear, not what I expected at all. Has me rethinking my approach to BH. Hoping to get out at Dickerson mid-day on Wednesday, will be my only shot at getting a December fish to keep my streak going. Not sure what the river will be like but may get lucky on the canal

Link on the Left Side of Main Page
Two easy things to do to help from getting things like this is to make a non-admin account to use. Only use the admin account when you have to. And use Firefox as your browser with an add-on called **** to keep the scripts from running.

Daiwa reel on Shimano rod
NorCalFishinguru, I would believe the factory tune statement if there was a specific rod for a specific reel. Its just marketing.

Daiwa reel on Shimano rod
Some guys do want to match up brands, to me it does not matter. Getting ready to put a Citica 200E on a Vendetta rod.

Maryland's Who's who!
hjerk24, the only places I know of on the upper potomac during the winter is two heated water discharge area's. There are other areas on the lower Potomac is you have a boat but I don't know anything about were they would be.

Need help from the computer gurus
Are you sure they are saved on AT&T servers? Most home connections don't. if I open email on my laptop and get my messages, then open email on a different system I don't get the messages I received before because they download to my computer and are not stored on my ISP's server. For XP there should be a .dbk file in the Application Data folder in the Documents and Settings folder. Without being able to look thru the system it kind of hard to guess what is going on.

IE problems
Essentially yes you are on the right path, although some will argue with me about this one. Without admin rights to load and run things the malware cannot run what it needs to in order to infect your pc. One caveat is I do run Firefox with a plug-in called No-Script which blocks any scripts from running without me approving it. Takes a little surfing time to get setup but works very well. While nothing is 100% secure with computers I have run this way for 4-5 years with 0 infections.

IE problems
Easiest and most effective thing to do is create a non-admin account and use it. Anything which gets downloaded runs under the permissions of the user who is logged in. I do cyber security for a living, honestly I don't run any AV by doing this and being behind the firewall built into my wireless router.

Need some suggestions please
The one thing I learned a long time ago, if he is a real friend he will appreciate you speaking up, and looking out for his best interest. That doesn't mean he has to do what you say. Talk to him about your fears, be honest, and let him make his own choice.

Maryland's Who's who!
If all goes well, will hit Dickerson on Friday about noon. If it doesn't rain to much on Wednesday, and they flow some water the smallies should be good. If no water is flowing it will be good exercise.....

What's with the NFL of late
Everyone keeps calling the Patriots cheaters for doing what everyone else is doing. Only difference is the Jets got "upset" and complained.

Who Dat?!
The fumble call was correct, they have said to finish the play just in case. Between the kicked and Laundry being punked, again, it should not have come down to that.

rod length
The longer the rod generally the longer that cast. Why going with such short a rod?

Desktop PC recommendations needed
Go with a Dell, you should be able to get a pretty good deal right now with the holidays. Windows 7 is actually a pretty good, better then what I thought. A laptop is a good idea if you plan to use it in different locations, or have wireless around your house. As for Mac's, just not worth the extra cost unless you want to do heavy duty graphics. Don't get stuck on the talk about no virus on Mac's, there are. At a cyber security event a test was put out to hack a Mac system. It took 8 minutes for the system to be completely owned by a hacker. Best thing you can do for security is setup non-admin accounts on your computer for regular use, only use the admin account when you have to.

Finally! A decent smallie!
Is that a threat speedbead??? Hitting the heated water in January worked very well for me this year. Was there earlier this week but water was up and murky from all the rain, didn't have much luck at all. Once it gets a little colder the smallies should move into the heated water areas. Basser, commented in Northeast section, but that is a nice smallie. After my lack of success this week I am jealous..... 8-)
