Is it wrong? need some opinions...
Unfortunately now it seems like people think they are "tough" if they "protect" their sisters. Don't get me wrong, if there is reason to know the guy won't be good for her then by all means protect her. But if you know he is a good guy, and thought about it enough to come to you man to man what is the problem? On the other side of it, I don't get the idea to just do it without saying something to your buddy. Friends are for a lifetime, good ones are hard to find, why mess that up?

Is it wrong? need some opinions...
"Try to get EXPERIENCE from some of the older fellas here. The younger ones are still at the sticking gum in the girls hair stage and don't have a clue" Nice line Muddy, I guess as you get older that statement will move farther from funny to making incredible sense. Oddly this is one of the times I hope to be on the "older fellas" group.....

Seems like me and LBH are on the same page here, its all about respect. If you like her, talk to your friend and be honest. If he shows any concern at all, back off. You will find treating people with respect will get you a long way in life.

Least productive day at work
I know the feeling, been on nights (6am to 6pm) shift when a co-worker decided to quit. Hard to get motivated at 3am, especially when I got vaction coming up. After 6am Wednesday I don't go back to work until 6pm on Jan 4th......

Maryland's Who's who!
Haven't been out at all, between work schedule and weather things haven't worked out. If a decent day works out hoping to check out the heated water at Dickerson, never been there so no idea were the workable spots are. But I am going to Tennessee for a week after christmas so it will have to be in the new year. Happy Holidays everyone!!

Four Year Low For Oil
So much of the OPEC countries revenue comes from oil, have seen some reports of 80% of total revenue, not sure how they can cut production by that large of an amount. With prices so low, cutting production on top of that, these countries are in for some very bad times. I honestly do not see them being able to enforce any of their "agreed" upon cuts

pflueger criterion
I have been reading thru everyones suggestions and the threads for tips to casting BC's. One issue I see is they refer adjusting your centrifugal weights, and setting your cast control knob properly however this reel only has one adjustment know beside the handle. I purchased the reel as part of a combo and do not have a manual. Any thoughts on the best methods for adjusting this type of BC?

pflueger criterion
what are peoples thoughts on the pflueger criterion baitcast reel?? I have always been a spinning reel person, decided to take the dive into a BC and got the pflueger criterion. However I could never get casting right, for some reason I get backlashes a lot. The odd part is the backlash occurs at the beginning of the cast not the end. Is this a sub-par reel and I am trying to learn by beating my head against the wall or am I just an idiot when it comes to BC's?

Laid off
Sorry to hear about people losing their jobs, was laid off about 3 years ago but in the long run it worked out for me. The one thing to keep in mind is some stays offer money to get schooling/training. Might be something to look at, you can never learn to much....

Swimbait question
Intrigued by all of the discussions about swimbaits and thinking about giving them a try. What I am wondering is..... Is there any decent swimbaits in the 3/4 to 1 ounce range? I do not have a setup for anything larger, and can't really afford to buy a new rig for swimbaits only in addition to the baits themselves. Well at least if I don't want the wife to cause bodily harm prior to next season.....

$25 Oil?
"Alternative" energy is a definite key to keeping energy cost down when we get to a growing economy again. The big question is, while again its the "feel good" answer it will take americans making an adjustment in how things are done. How much of a fight will it be to get everyone to accept the change? People by nature to not grasp change easily, and without a mass majority of citizens accepting things it will be very difficult to make the fundamental changes necessary.

$25 Oil?
Great news, however the down side is the reason the price keeps going down is the global economy slowly sinking. Although the feel good response is "buy american" or "buy local" the US economy will be very difficult to grow with the global economy as it is. We are no longer in a world were a country can prosper on their own. Will be interesting to see OPEC's response, and what happens when the global economy turns around.

Laptop Vs Desktop
If you are not a high end gamer a laptop is just more useful. You are not tied to a desk. Works out well to have a wireless network (as long as you have high speed internet). With it I can log in anywhere in my house or outside in the backyard. When I go on long drives with my daughter I play movies on it to keep her occupied.....

tough decision
Oddly enough I had the same unit, the 400 lcr when I bought my boat. Went out and got the 565 and have not been disappointed at all.

Monocacy River in Maryland
Munkin, a few area have the allowable keepers, they add a couple areas on catch and release. In addition to this area on the monocacy, there are parts of the potomac the same way. I have found if I stick to the easy areas to get to I don't see much size, however wade away from those areas and things improve.....

Monocacy River in Maryland
Well there is Pine Cliff park, Monocacy Park, and in Buckeystown if you go back Michael's Mill road there is a little park at the intersection with Rt. 80. The parking lot is close enough to take a canoe down. Sure there are others, will have to think about it for awhile As far as trophy, thats just Marylands designation for catch and release areas. I have seen up to 18 in smallmouth, have heard but not seen up to 22 inch smallmouth. The largest musky was 40 inches. The main forage for smallmouth is crayfish, so most baits mimic them deep in the pools.
