  1. Looks like a toy compared to Matts new hard Bluegill!
  2. Isn't it awesome when you figure things out? Getting on a good pattern is great, even better when you figure out what the big fish are eating.
  3. Don't be, its hard fishing everyday ;D Not! Haha.
  4. Basstrix Style Swimbaits
  5. Reminds me of a baitsmith.
  6. Until I start making my own jigs, I fish TnT jigs. A great quality jig that catches fish. I prefer living rubber to regular flat skirt material. Skinny bear jigs are also nice jigs.
  7. My opinion, get a good reel instead of skimping by buying a crappy black max. The new Citica E's are awesome reels for the money. Even The D's. Save up and get a quality reel.
  8. Okuma XH 7'11" Shimano Cardiff 400 That is the best budget combo in my opinion. The Okuma rods are a great value for the money, and have awesome warranty. My Cardiff has held up so far, and I like it. I toss my 8" Hudd with no problem. Handled 9" Punkers with ease, and I use it occasionally to throw a 6" Baitsmith.
  9. My Okuma swimbait rod did the same thing and I contacted Okuma directly and they said to send it in, pay for shipping (Like 16 bucks), and you got a new rod.
  10. Me being 110% catch and release, I would never keep a bass to mount it. Replicas are soooooo real looking now. Skin mounts don't last nearly as long.
  11. http://btjunkie.org/torrent/Metallica-Some-Kind-Of-Monster-DVDrip-by-Fatima-avi/4432672c6823c81ae793d2563a92d07e1b69d64ae99f gotta have some type of program, like utorrent, to download it though.
  12. You have got to be careful with light line. I use 8-10lb test on my dropshot rig. Don't try to rip their lips on the hook set, and let them fight. You can not and will not be able to horse a big fish in. You got to let them run with the drag. Berkley Transition line has a reputation to break easily. I'd use fluorocarbon, such as Triline 100%. That is what I use and love it.
  13. I use Black alot. Or any thing pumkin, green, etc. Just natural colors. But when the water is dirty or sometimes even if its not dirty, I use black/blue. Sometimes thinking out of the box works like a charm.
  14. I love Powell rods. My 765 is tip heavy without a reel, but balances nice with a Revo SX. I have a carrot stix rod also, but I like my Powells tons more. Especially now that the Powells are in the same price range as the Carrots. Go to your local tackle shop and see if they have any powells you can try out. Be sure to bring the reel you are using to see how it balances. If not, check out Dobyns rods, I know they come balanced from the factory.
  15. I think scents at times can help, but I have caught plenty of bass without it, and plenty of bass with it. It doesn't really help me. Pretty soon you get dependent on it, and if you don't use it you feel as if you aren't gonna catch anything. That is what happens to me, so I try not to use it too much. Just as a lube on my swimbaits.
  16. I have and use the same exact rod paired with a shimano cardiff 400 reel. I use it for all my swimbaits, even though its a over kill for my smaller ones. It works great with Hudds, and lunker punkers.
  17. I want to try one of the new Zillions out for sure. They look promising. I have had no problems with my Powells though. Except when I first got my 765, It broke at the tip while flipping a fish up to shore. My second one has had no problems yet.
  18. So far, I own two Powells and plan on switching over to all Powells. They a AWESOME value now. My 765 is a great jig rod that is versatile. I can throw small swimbaits on it, I flip with it, I frog with it, and I jig with it. I even used it to toss my Tru Tungsten Bluegill while my Okuma was in for warranty. I have never tried or held a Kistler, so I am not going to say anything about them. But for Powells new price, they are extremely hard to beat.
  19. I have never used a Pflueger, but I have and use Revos. I have a Revo SC and SX, and I love them both. They cast great, they are super smooth, drag is super powerful, look great, and are light.
  20. Yes, my dropshot setup is a 703MEF Powell with a 1500 Shimano Sedona. I have 8lb on it, but I can change. How about tubes?
