  1. I love Fly Fishing for them! I got to get a light rod for them though. My trout rod is way too heavy haha.
  2. That happened to me with my Okuma. My tip guide was grooved and cracked. So I called Okuma and they said send it in and we'll replace it. Easy as that.
  3. I am thinking about selling my Carrot for a Powell. It is really hard to fish with my Powell, then pick up the Carrot. The Carrot does feel cheap. I will miss the way it looks though.
  4. I got a Ugly Stick that does the job for me. I rather not spend a arm and leg to get the nicest pole for bluegill.
  5. Just the normal goons using a surf rod for trout or even the occasional lure.
  6. That video just makes me wanna become pro even more. Those guys are very lucky to be doing what they love for a living. Hopefully I am blessed enough to compete in the classic someday.
  7. Video games are for girly men! Get out and fish, thats all the playing you need. Haha
  8. Well with a powell, you get a replacement for 35 bucks no matter how it broke. Which is awesome in my opinion. You can just take it back to where you bought it, and can trade it right then and there. I am thinking about selling my carrot to get another powell. Going from my powell to carrot just doesnt feel right. The powell is alot better.
  9. Man, you really are a low budjet hooker! Get yourself a Okuma!
  10. I own both a Powell 765, and a Carrot Stix 6'6" Medium. After trying both, I would get a Powell. I LOVE my Powell. You can really tell the difference in sensitivity. Get a Powell and never look back!
  11. Nice fish! On the other hand, got any info about your boat? I want to build one just like it up.
  12. I love the EVA grips.
  13. The hook holder is one of my favorite things about the carrot stix! I love the color too. My only gripe about them is that the finish does come off easily, they aren't as sensitive as my powell, but that was not expected, and the guides are crappy. But, so far I am glad with my purchase. Just kinda PO'd that now the Powells went down in price. I would rather have a Powell.
  14. Thanks for the info guys! I got alot of good info from it. I will try those retrieves, and go buy different colors and weights and blade styles. I do use a trailer hook though.
  15. Ok well, I am having troubles catching fish on spinnerbaits. I have only had a few fish on spinner baits. Nothing big. But I want to know how should I use them? I just do a steady retrieve started when the bait hits the water. I throw have been switching between either a Strike King or Terminator white skirted , with a colorado/willow leaf.
  16. Wacky rigging works like a charm.
  17. Dang, not changing your line for a year or more? That will never happen to me haha. I change my line when either I run out of enough line to use, or mono every other trip, my floro, not sure yet, just started trying it out on my new combo, and its lasting a long time, braid, either runs low, or I get sick of the way it feels because that layer that makes braid stiff comes off and it becomes super limp. Line is something that I don't like playing around with. I don't like breaking off fish. Hurts me for weeks, lol.
  18. The bait monkey never leaves me alone. As soon as I think I have enough swimbaits, he responds with a no. Haha. d**n you bait monkey!
  19. That one cracks me up. If they were more like 50 bucks, I'd get one, but I rather buy a new combo or something.
  20. Man! Now I got to buy more powells? Haha. I love powell.
  21. Man, its killing me! At least its giving a cloud cover effect.
  22. Just put the line back threw the hook eye when you are down tying the palomar.
  23. I caught a Osprey with my Lunker Punker. That was not fun. I was working it back to me like normal and all of a sudden a giant white thing comes crashing down on it. I cussed a storm up and reeled him in. This guy walking by helped me get it loose. We covered it with my jacket and removed the hooks. Not a fun day.
