trim problem
i had a similar problem a few years back..the trim was getting louder and then stopped working, when i took things apart the wires on the brushes on the trim motor were just about toasted..to make a long story short i ended up buying a new trim assembly that came with a new wire harness and relays...maybe you could check the harness out somehow and just replace that..

How Long Do You Stay on The Water?
i usually fish from about 6-6:30 am to noon time...try to get off the water when the water skiers start buzzing around and the boat ramp get's too crowded

My boat ramp complaint
besides the usual idiots at the boat ramp i had a real gem today...the dock at the lake i was fishing only has room for one boat..today as i was coming in there was a boat tied to the dock and the guy was fishing from the boat!!!!!!!!!!!! i idled around alittle bit and he just kept on fishing,so i pulled in close and asked him if he was waiting for someone and he said no,he was just playing around.... i asked him to move his boat so i could take mine out and he ok but sounded ticked!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't know if some of these people are that inconsiderate or plain stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how well do you know your home lake?
i fish 2 lakes near my home.one is 400 acres and one 480..i usually can catch alot of 12-14 inch bass and an occasional 3-6 lb'er at one lake and the other lake ,which also has pike and muskie,i catch less bass but the size is bigger, usually at least 2lbs..my problem at both lakes is i try different area but always end up going back to my old spots....i have areas i can almost always catch a few bass but nothing over 3 lbs consistently....one other note,i'm in the northeast so giant bass aren't abundant!!!!!

gelcoat repair
i don't think it's down to the fiberglass..how deep would it have to be...i just took a closer look and there is like a very small dent less than probably less than 1/16 of an inch..then about a 12 inch scratch. it's on part of the boat that is black and i don't see any white showing underneath the black

gelcoat repair
i got a nasty scratch in my boat the other day.while trying to pick out a backlash the wind blew me in close to shore and i was so ticked off with the wind and backlash i didn't pay attention to what the boat was doing and rubbed up against a cement block resulting in about a 2ft scratch..i know bass pro has a repair kit i can order..i was wondering if anyone has done any repair work on gelcoat ......thanks

mercury 60hp/3 cyl
does anyone have a 60hp,3 cylinder mercury 2 stroke..i have a 2004 model on my nitro and have been unhappy with it pretty much since i got it..it starts hard.. stalls while idling sometimes..also it doesn't seem to run smooth when first starting to get on plane..rpm's top out at 5100..range should be 5000-5500..just got it tuned up for the second time in 2 years and have been told by 2 dealers the 3 cylinders are tempermental..was also told by oringinal dealer it ran rough because it wasn't broken in yet.....the evinrude on my other boat put's this mercury to shame...this is the first mercury i've had and shall be the last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do you prefer to fish alone?
i prefer and usually fish alone..i can start and leave when i want and i seem to concentrate on my lures more..i too used to have a friend that went alot but his back is in bad shape and he can't stay in the boat for very long and i got used to going by myself...

marker buoys
i use them to mark weed edges then you can back off and fish them or i leave the buoys there and go back a couple hrs later providing there isn't alot of other boats on the lake..if you find a good spot and drift around a bit while fishing or unhooking a fish it's sometimes hard to find the same spot.

How important is your skeg? Anyone use a skegguard
i had a 50hp evinrude that i bent it pretty bad and it didn't have any adverse effects

tennis [elbow] anyone ??
i was originally diagonosed with tennis elbow..then had an mri that showed a tear in a tendon..go to a new doctor on weds....i live in the northeast so fishing is still a month or so away but the way my arm is now,i don't think i can cast much. i'm afraid it's going to ruin a good part of the fishing season....maybe i'll have to start trolling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pike protection
one area i fish is a big flat about 6ft with the weeds growing pretty much right to the shoreline.i would assume the bass are moving out to the 8-12 ft depth near the deeper weed edge..what is a hammerhandle..if it's muskie,we have those too...the fish feed pretty much all summer long on top,the splashes are so big and vicious they have to be pike or muskie...either that or i'm missing some very big bass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Pike protection
not to change the subject, but seeing that you guys also fish waters with pike do you know how it affects the bass when the pike are feeding heavily on the surface..do you think the bass are feeding also or do the bass avoid the pike...and do you think they share the same weed beds..
-
Pike protection
i also have the same problem..i don't use a wire leader and just take my chances...i figure the wire affect the action somewhat so i lose a few crankbaits everynow and then..plastics too but i don't mind that...although i did buy a luckycraft and may buy 1 or 2 more but i won't be using them at that particular lake..

Nitro's
i have a nitro 640...2 yrs old now and am very happy with it..granted i think the quality is below the rangers, skeeters etc ....like anything else you get what you pay for ...i just fish weekends on small lakes..no tournaments and it is perfect for me....only complaint is i'm not too crazy about the 60 hp mercury on it...my other boat had an evinrude and i liked it better...
-
Whats your craziest catch?
a fews years back i hooked into something really big..at first i thought it was either a large bass or big pike or muskie...after about 5 minutes of following it around with the trolling motor(it kept burying itself it the weeds) i figured it must be a huge bass because a pike would have broke my line by now..after about 10 minutes i found out i snagged a huge carp by the tail...quite a battle but also quite dissapointing..

wondering how it works?
apparantly there is some confusion on what a onboard charger is. all i know is that in my minn kota manual and on the charger itself,it is called an onboard battery charger model MK220..your right it is a dual bank charger but called an onboard charger nevertheless
-
Need some help with a on board charger
i didn't realize your other battery was up front.seems that the easiest thing to do would be move your trolling motor battery to the back of the boat if you have room and lengthen the power leads to the trolling motor
-
wondering how it works?
an onboard charger eliminates the need to plug in a portable battery charger when you get back home..an onboard can charge multiple batteries..just plug one cord into an outlet..with a portable charger you need to hook up one batery to the charger, charge that one up then hook up the other battery to charge that one...i would assume most bass boats have at least 2 batteries..i have one for the trolling motor and one to start the engine and run the rest of my electronics
