i don't know if this will help but i had a hummingbird a fews yrs ago that kept changing the depths automatically so i turned off the auto depth control.....

i've had a few bills break off slapping them on the water to get the weeds off..i try not to do that but sometimes i do it just out of habit....

anyone using these,i tried one for a short time..doesn't really do much...i fisfed it kinda like a jerk bait......any one catch anything and how did you retrieve it......

i have some,bass pro shop used to carry them a few yrs back..what i like best about them is they come through weeds very well and i almost always catch something on them....but now i think they are pretty expensive and i still have a bunch...the only place i know of that you can get them is yakima bait company......

i've only caught a few bass so far this year but the rapala x rap is working for me...

i have a 640 LX with a 60 hp mercury 2 stroke (2004)...it's a good boat for 1 or 2 people but i don't know if it would be good for tournaments with the added weight of full livewells...60 hp is still alittle underpowered but i fish mostly by myself and no tournaments so i am very happy with it. My only complaint is that the mercury is very hard starting sometimes and stalls at low idle....i hate the motor but like the boat!!!!!!!

all mine are quantums except for one...6 acurrists,1 daiwa advantage,super tuned and 2 hardly used quantum spinng reels....

thanks for the advice....i idled around for awhile,didn't see any bait..not any rock piles or wood that i know of...i suspect the bass are just sitting on the bottom in what little weed growth there is.....i did try a jerkbait but wasn't patient enough

just spent the last 3 days fishing a 480 acre lake,water temp 46 degrees,ice out about 2 weeks ago..only caught a couple perch...no weed growth to speak of and the deepest spots are 35 ft but i usually don't fish any deeper than 12-14ft...any suggestions?..was only out a couple hrs each day cause it was pretty breezy...tried spinnerbait,worm,jig,lizard,various crankbaits from 3ft to 12 ft....is it just too early..this happens to me every year

well i'm glad to hear it's good line,i spooled up 5 reels with 12 lb test ,hopefully i'll get on the water for the first time next weekend...

i met edwin acouple weeks ago,very nice guy,i hope he has a good year...i joked with him about the flipstah commercial....he said bps never sent him one!!!!!!!/also i have seen him on classic patterns and i think he was using pflueger rod and reel...

it appears these reels are going on sale at dicks for around $99.00 according to the sale flier i saw this morning....i will being checking it out for sure in about an hour..10am est....i paid 185.00 for mine,i guess i'll have to buy another to bring down the average cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i bought one,but it will be about another month until the ice melts,i have 5 accurists(that i don't have any problems with) and didn't really need a new reel but i talked myself into the energy 5.1 ratio for crankbaits to go along with my kvd crankin rod....i can't wait to try it out......

does anyone know of any sunglasses besides fitovers and cocoons for those of us that wear glasses. i have tried both plus clip on i bought at dicks...none of them seem to be real good quality glasses,still don't see in the water real well........

i am thinking of taking an 1 1/2hr drive to a cabelas tomorrow.i was wondering if the stores have most of the stuff in the catalog in store or do they have a limited supply on display.....

i have 5 of them,the oldest being about 4yrs old....haven't had any problems with them and would buy another at such a low price but don't really need one,i will buy 1 new energy this year because i want a 5.0 ratio reel for cranking.....i think places are still clearing out last years models so you canget some good deals

i think i am getting an inferiorty complex...i own a nitro and all my reels are quantums!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 names that don't seem to fare well on this site.......................

i've owned a nitro for 5 yrs with no problems..only complaint would be mercury engine,only service issue was with rubber boot for trolling motor switch,i emailed parts dept and they sent it right out.....and the sides of my boat don't cave in!!!!!

what seem to be the best replacement hooks for crankbaits,i usually don't have much of a problem losing fish on crankbaits but last summer i lost a few on a rapala dt 12...had some decent fish on for a few seconds,then gone..i was thinking of buying some of the david fritz treble hooks with the wide bend....
