  1. maybe we should all keep the planner and they will lose enough money they will stop sending it out..i sent mine back last year with a note not to send me anymore,i haven't recieved one yet...
  2. most of the articles i've read will tell you the bass don't start moving out until the weeds start dying off...
  3. i use the berkley spooling station(no toes) but also have a battery powered line stripper..makes things alot easier and quicker
  4. i tried vanish about 4yrs ago and it was awful.line breaking and knots not holding,i stuck with mono until recently i tried trilene 100% fluorocarbon and so far i'm happy with it,i have 17 lb test on baitcasters and haven't had any problems with knots, backlashs,or line breaking off and it casts well too
  5. i just bought one the other day,i don't need another reel but couldn't pass it up,wish i knew about the coupon!!!! now if they only stocked falcon cara's and put those on sale!!!!!!
  6. i own 5 cara's including 2 T-7's...i love them all,they are light,sensitive and strong,i would recomend them to anyone..and as others have said..made in the usa!!!!
  7. i usually change my line once a year unless i happen to get few overruns i can't pick out.....i spool it on in the spring and if all goes well i strip it off in the fall.....
  8. i have a 2004 mercury 60 hp..3 cylinder..have had it worked on twice..does the same thing, rough idle and stalls sometimes idling in to dock and i always have to use the choke to start it and it usually coughs and stalls at least once..if you find the problem please post..good luck..my next boat will hopefully not have a mercury on it if i can help it!!!!!!!
  9. i have used cara's the past couple years and love em..this year i bought 2 cara T7"s..and like them as well...very light and sensitive yet strong......i would recomend them to anyone...
  10. i too own a nitro 640 LX and am very pleased with it..yes they are cheaper and may lack in some quality compared to other boats but i think for me it made it possible to buy a new bass boat...the only other boat i looked at was a skeeter and it was nice and probably better quality but was more money and the nitro actually had more storage which was one thing i was looking for.....
  11. i have the same problem, they just killed the weeds off for the first time at this lake...i don't know if the bass stay close to the bottom or move deeper...the weedlines are gone..just a narrow band on the garmin with what might be an occasional clump..although i caught some bass early monday up shallow i didn't have much luck otherwise..i tried 10' power worm,dt10,jig/pig, and suspending jerkbaits without any luck...this sucks,i used to do well at this lake and it's 5 mins from my house!!!!!!!!
  12. i thought it was me,but i haven't caught much this year either...caught 6 decent bass yesterday, best outing of the year, caught one bass today!!!!also i've been skunked twice this year, that has never happened to me before....i'd usually get 1 or 2 bass!!!!!!!
  13. i have a falcon t7...6-6" med heavy..i haven't used it too much yet,but since i have 5 other cara"s i'm sure i'll be very happy with it..i haven't used any of the other rods mentioned so i can't compare but i have been only buying falcon rods the last few yrs and am very happy with them.....
  14. i have been using snaps on crankbaits for a few years now and was wondering how many of you also remove the o rings on the baits..the original article i read said to remove the o rings and use snaps...it was a few yrs back but i probably read the article from bassmasters or infisherman
  15. i had the same dilemma a fews years back,i had an aluminum grumman bass something or other and the deck was getting soft so i was was looking for a boat with no wood..turned out the nitro i bought was lower priced then most aluminum boats with no wood that were available in my area without traveling 200 miles...and the heavier fiberglass doesn't get blown around in the wind as much...
  16. i recieved a flyer today in the mail from acadia sports..buy one rod get one free..anyone ever use any of these..i currently use falcon cara's and was wondering if anyone has tried these rods...price is $39.95 so i don't think they will compare to falcon's but just figured i'd see if anyone is using these
  17. it was the converter,i don't know what a hub is.....it seems that your lites wouldn't work at all if a fuse was blown....on mine i checked the dc voltage and when i turned the headlites on it would drop way down,so i assume there was a bad wire in the converter.....but it was doing the same thing as yours..turned the headlites on and got nothing...i guess you should go back and check grounds,i'm guessing that when you turn the headlites on the voltage is drawing off somewhere else not giving your lites enough power to lite up....something in the headlite circuit...
  18. i had a similar problem..i ended up changing the taillight converter(i think thats what it's called) it's a small box underneath the truck that your truck wiring goes into and then comes out the other side to the trailer lites...i have a 2003 nissan and the old one just unplugged from thr truck wiring and i plugged the new one in and presto!..everything worked..i spent a week checking wires and bulbs......
  19. had a very slow day today..warm and sunny, while fishing in 10ft of water along a weed edge i noticed a cloud of bait fish on the fishfinder..i dropped a fat ika down into them and sure enough caught a 2lb bass that must have been following the bait....just something to keep in mind....don't no why i never did it before, for some reason never thought of it until today.......
  20. don't trust the tester that plugs into your truck.i was having problems and the tester read ok,turned out to be the converter you're talking about....the problem i was having was the directionals and stop lites worked until i turned the headlites on,then nothing worked...and the running lites didn't work at all....i guess what was happening was when i turned the headlites on igot a voltage drop so nothing would work...i checked the grounds and all that stuff..drove me crazy for a week....
  21. same thing has happened to me the last couple times out..i try to ignore them but it's impossible..i have tried all kinds of lures with no luck...sammy,popper,shallow jerkbait, shallow crankbits,senko..tubes..etc....very frustrating..i could do better with a net, cause some are so close i could net them if ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. good job...see all that fishing paid off....
  23. it's a jerkbait..the model i'm looking for floats back up instead of suspending...
  24. i'm looking for perch pattern..i wonder if they still make them..thanks for the offer but you may what to hang on to yoursi'm still searching..maybe i'll try another brand...
  25. i lost one of my floating wild shiners to a darn pike and i can't find any at bass pro or cabelas..anyone know where else i might find some..they only have the suspending models...i NEED the floating model......thanks
