  1. you meen the part where they, "Dont be stupid" yeah, it kind of swayed me too, i meen, after all, nobody wants to be "stupid"
  2. true, thanks for the words.....theyre having a good time either way
  3. to each his own, but i gotta say, i saw a guy yesterday at marsh creek catch 2 ok sized with an earthworm setup......so i guess it can work but a majority of the time i just feel sorry for the people...... like last weekend, i caught like 7 bass in 2 or 3 hours, which isnt amazing, i know, but before i started fishing i talked to a few guys that said that NOBODY ON THE ENTIRE LAKE has caught anything that whole day, and they were their from 9 am, i showed up at 5pm...... and I see their bait and I instantly know why im the funny thing is, im usually the guy that doesnt get much, unless im by myself and really put some time in....... i think i just recently mastered the art of the weightless senkio, MY FAVORITE LURE
  4. VERY NICE i see that the first guy uses my personal favorite color,......mad melon but iv been using kinami confetti and have been doing excellent,......great color..... Im stayiung with senkos, everytinme i go to buy a tiki stick i end up deciding that the dollar or 2 i will save wont be worth the lack of confidence..... see, i KNOW i can fish these senkos perfectly, and dont mind the extra money, i feel proud that my box is exclusively yamamoto, except one bag of tubes...and a bag of cabin creek spider parts which i gotta say, i havnt fallen in love with, too much weight...
  5. After fishing a ton this year iv realized a few things...... many fishers have no idea what their doing, even after fishing for 40+ years..... and the ones that do know, still use real worms anyway? I'm not trying to insult anyone who prefers live bait, but it just seems like the lake is for my taking when I go down and im the only one throwing plastics..... people will be fishing for hours, and I come down, and after a cast or 2 with a senko or a kut tail i will have one.......and they all get ticked off...... Is this just the area where im from? it seems that everybody, even the guys that have "the fishing look" are throing little live worms with tiny hooks and bobbers?? they always wanna know what i use and half the time have never even heard of a Senko, also , they look at my 3/0 or 4/0 hook and act like im fishing for sharks....lol "THATS THE BIGGEST FRESHWATER HOOK IV EVER SEEN...." Am i missing out on using these real worms? or am i right when i say these guys arent fishing for bass the way they should........ See, me, I NEVER use live bait, it seems to take out all skill and all stradigy......this is why im not a huge saltwater guy, anyway, whats up with all these real worm/live bait users..... Anybody out their care to defend live bait?
  6. Why they call them attractents??? is a question i can;t answer they should call them odor masks, or scent nuetralizers...... iv tried 2 so far, and even though their a pain in the ***, i feel like they could help in certain situations...... 1) garlic bass by eagle claw- not a brand i really trust but i tried it anyway....THIS STUFF SMELLS THE WORST!!!! i cant stress this enoough!!! terriible, made my whole LIFE SMELL FOR WEEKS.... thing is, it seemed to work pretty descent, had a bass i almost pulled into the shore without even coming close to the hook..... problem ios its hard as hell to put on bait, and smells so bad you need to wear surgean gloves.... 2) YUM crawfish- not sure about this one....smells a lot better....in fact, it just makes you feel like you just had some shrimp or something......but im not sure if it works too well./... i lvoe the easy spray on, but i havnt made up my mind on thjis one yet, at least my car doesnt smell for days after use
  7. iv heard wiehgt helps, but in my experience, adding weight can just make it worse..... iv been fishign senkos/worms weightless all season, and i think iv finally mastered it..... try texposed and tuck the end of the hook back into the flesh of the worm.... whenever i get hung up too much, i just tuck the tip a little deeper....
  8. although you are definately missing out on fish in the weeds, you can survive by fishing what you feel comfortable fishing....... their are definately fish in spots where most people would think as a "terrible" spot example- at french creek scotts run lake, many people fish in cover spots, ect, including myself, and it was a pretty slow day, i caught a few, but nobody else did..... anyway, after a while, i started casting where the little kids fish, right off the shoire where their is NO cover, and the water is shallow and landed 2 right off the bat, my friend with me fished the same spot and caught the biggest bass of the day (nothing too special, but still a nice fish....) just goes to show, if youd dont feel like fishing in a weedy spot with lots of cover, you can still catch fish anywhere.....
  9. Nice story, i cant even imagine a 15lb bass,,,,,,d**n what about the one in the picture, almost looks like a monster crappie.....then again, its a small pic is that the bass?
  10. i know that i just paid 25 an hour to rent a boat on marsh creek,.... and i would have rather gone to the pond you discussed in a minute ponds are great, fish are very aggressive......great for topwater stuff id take a shot, and if after an hour you dont have fish, id maybe bring it in in any descent pond you should have a couple every hour for the most part
  11. thanks makes me feel better, guess i can bring the woman after all i love the guy that said, "no witnesses" lol the pole line was pretty funny too
  12. THIS WAS YESTERDAY FOR ME!!!! i dont know,,,,,,but i believe in "fishing karma" maybe thats what it was??? i know, i know - "f*cking hippie"..... but seriousely, i beleive in it.....
  13. this does sound like it sucks for fishers, but i gotta say, it sound kind of fun.....lol you say ther is no line they hold on to??? weird.... so they basicly surf it like a skateboard halfpipe??? mYBE I missunderstood this comment
  14. i definatly see were your coming from, but ya know, we cant just be the "grumpy old fisherman" well, i guess techniquely we can......lol...where was i going with this??? oh all im saying is this, hate idiots, dont hate pleasure boaters....... anyone who appreciates the lake, and natural life that surrounds it, im ok with...boating is great..... Respect me and i repect you is how i look at it...... but please, keep on hating these stupid people with no comman sence or repect....
  15. yep, im a line watcher myself.......this is why nightfishing can be frustrating i always watch where the line meets the water..... i dont notice taps, but when that line pulls to a side i know i got something unless its windy, then it may l;ook like that, but really the slack just pulled to the left but line watching is a must for me.......especially where i fish, fishing feel only can be misleeding
  16. How important do you think it is to be completely quiet? based on past experience, is it possible to catch big bass when you have your girlfriend with you who literly wont shut up....lol Im looking for people to say "I was with my 3 friend drinking and being loud when my buddy caught a 4 pounder" im talking shore fishing mostly, but general is fine.... what do yuo people think about it, is this why i never catch big bass unless im by myself? also, i heard someone post earlier not to go near the waters edge, stand back 25 ft. think its worth it>? Reason i ask is, when i go by myself i always pull at least 1 or 2 bass, even when its slow.... but i find when i bring my girl, or a friend, i sit their empty all day? just happebned yesterday even Can anyone confirm that talking while fishing is a seriouse no no, or is it just better to be silent, but not 100% neccessary? THANKS
  17. i agree w2ith everybody, its not always great right after, but 24 hours later, it seems to pick up my best day this year was almost exactly 24 hours after a large storm.... every new spot i would fish i would get a strike on the first cast......caught about 4 bass that were over a pound or 2, for me, those are BIG bass......
  18. maybe im just a ineprerienced amatear, but i use 8lb on everything, weightless senko included....and to be honest, its the heaviest iv used in a while, when you guys say "problem setting the hook" , can you explain a little bit...maybe this will help me.//// i always wondered why bass guys use 12-15lb test? is it because the bass you guys are fishing for is bigger then mine? for me, its harder to cast....and is just too damb heavy..... using 12lb test for a 1 lb bass makes it feel like a minnow as well....... i feel like for me, 8 pound is where its at......still nice and light, but heavy enough to hold up
  19. So you guys use topwater lures alot it seems? iv never had any luck unless i was fishing a pond, in wich case i consider it the funnest and most productive lure to use but on a lake or resevour, the only thing that goes for my topwater are sunnies and bluegills..... as for at night, most topwater baits are advertised as "the best nightfishing lure available" see jitter bug, ect i usually throw one on for 10 casts or so, and then move back to regular bottom lures....
  20. im pretty much a 100% bank fisher, far from an expert........ it can be great fishing, but sometimes chaleneging to find a good spot...especially where Best way to fish lakes from the banks is find the patterns....and ask yourself these questions 1) where have i caught bass at this lake, and when? you will often find that the small cove may be really good fishing at 8pm, but during the day their is not 1 bass within the area, you need to find a consistant spot at the time you go fishing, like me, i know i hacve to walk 2) Is the pattern consistant? Do i usually catch fish at this one spot in late afternoons or is it coincidence..you need to know if its a true pattern, or just what happened one day 3) where do i catch my biggest/bigger bass?? you will find many medium sized largemouth in many areas, but i guarentee the big ones will probably be consisentrated in a certain area, remember the spots where you have caught big bass and mark them 4) Find the place where you can get a descent cast out AND catch bass Their will be many spots where bass hide that you cant cast into without hanging up into a tree every other cast....at 6 bucks a lure sometimes, this isnt worth it, and their will be many spots where you can get a great cast off, but their are no fish, you need to find the middle ground hope it helps John Del Sordo
  21. i checked to make sure this wasnt a repeat post, but it might be......im sorryu but is their ANY difference between Kinami and Yamamoto as far as materials is concerned?? same package,. and they feel the same, but they are a good 2 dollars less a bag say its made by yamamoto, is it the same factory??? either way, they work thanks,
  22. i think they just use the tenticle now, no wire thanks for the post....
  23. Apparently this soft-plastic is becoming more and more popular in my area....(Philly suburbs) It is made by Cabin Creek Baits, and is actually a 2 part soft plastic..... looks like a stripped down kreature, made with different plastic (the shinnier style, different than GYCB) It uses its own Jig-styled hooks...and is set bu first putting the head on the lure (picture a small octopus) and then the tail (basicly a regular spider) Anyone ever use these? do they compare to the kreatures? they seem to use a lot more weight than the kreature, and are slightly smaller...... THANKS...
  24. Thanks for posting this topic i actually put up the same topic, but after reading my post, their was no real question, and it just made me sound stupid....lol thanks again
  25. 5" senko GY mad melon/watermelon/ 6.5" tail GY watermelon w/ black Kreature weightless
