it was great to finally meet everyone.

had a great time fishing with...Brian, Swabby, Rhino, and ProCrafter.

i caught fish on techniques that i had never had success with.  and got my 1st smallie...

overall a total success.  thanks to everyone.

What a great trip.  We had a ton of fun.  Chris and Becky were great roommates and great people.

It was great seeing everyone again or for the first time.  Fishing was awesome also.  We caught a bunch of fish.

Now just to wait for next year.

I'll get the pics and video over Glenn.

If you fished with Glenn or Keri, please check your gear. We are missing two combos

that may have been left behind on your boat.  One is a St. Croix Avid AVC70MM/ CH50MG,

the other is a G. Loomis PR844S/ Stella 2500FD.

Thanks!

Another great RoadTrip has come to it's end. IS it time for the next one? I look forward to this trip every year.

I don't have any big fish pics because I did not catch any big fish. I have a bunch of people pics I will send to you, Glenn.

I fished one day with Glenn. Thank you, Glenn for a great day on the water. We got some fish and I got to know the guy a lot better. What I would says is; if you get the chance to fish with Glenn, DO IT. He is a fine example of what a human can be.

Went out the next day with Big O. What a blast, despite the lousy weather we were faced with all day. The wind kept us off the main lake; where we should have been. We fished shallow, and caught a bunch of fish, but no big fish. The water was falling, which should have put the big girls out on the drops, humps and ledges. We just couldn't stay out there to find them. Despite that, I had an awesome time with Steve and Chad. I was in the boat with two top shelf fishermen, and I learned enough in one day to keep me busy the rest of the year trying to put that new knowledge to use. Thanks Steve, and please give Chad my thanks as well. I hope we can do it again; the sooner the better.

Fished Saturday with Mike Siebert and his wife Julie. That would be Siebert Outdoors, just in case you didn't know that. Or Gman to you folks who have been around here for a while. Had a ball with two fine people. I'll say that despite the fact that both of them out-fished me; dang it anyway. LOL Thanks Mike. Thanks Julie. I'd be happy as can be to fish with you two again; any time.

The Soiree went well in one respect: we raised 150 bucks for Tackle the Storm. Pretty cool. In another respect, I have to apologize to a good portion of the folks there. Quite a few didn't get any soup because they didn't know it was there to be had. That was my fault for not getting the word around. And, there were some who didn't get any, or took very little because they thought there wasn't enough to go around. Again, I neglected to inform everybody that there were two big pots of soup on the stove; not one. my mistake, again. I weill do better next year.

Thanks to Roadwarrior for some good burgers and beans Thursday night. I think Kent should do this every year.

Thanks to Alpster for some fine jambalaya and red beans & rice. The weather limited the number of people who showed up to sample Ronnie's chow. Those of you who didn't make it, should have. I think Ronnie should do this every year too.

I shared a cabin with Long Mike, Roadwarrior, Alpster and Big O. Our cabin seemed to be party central every night. I was up late every night chatting and BS'ing with a diverse group of folks. Anybody who's been around Big O knows he can BS with the best of "em. Made some new friends too, and that's what the Bass Resource RoadTrip is all about.

We had some good speakers again this year, topped off with a night with Big O. He gave away a boat load of Rage Tail baits, and gave us an excellent talk on rigging, presentation, colors, and fishing in general. If you weren't there for that, you really screwed up. Big O is the most expert fisherman I've ever met. If I had all of his fishing knowledge, and he had a feather in his booty-crack, we would both be tickled.

And last, but not at all least; a big thank you to Glenn and Keri for hosting this outstanding event. None of this would be possible without them. I look forward to the RoadTrip all year long, and can't imagine having to miss one, or even worse, not having one at all.

And last, and this is really the last, we raised a bunch of cash for Tackle the Storm. I think I heard how much, but I won't repeat what I'm not sure of. I would be interested in finding out, if possible.

For all of you who are on the fence about attending this event; get off the fence and sign up for next year. I look forward to meeting you.

Cheers,

GK

Made it home today and already missing being there with everyone.

Ready for next year already, too.

Ghoti already provided a good narrative.........but he only touched the tip of the iceberg. Everyone that can attend next year should.......it is great!

Thanks to Mike and Julie Siebert for being great cabin mates.

Thank you to FishinDaddy and Nicole for your generosity of allowing Beckie and I to stay an extra day in your cabin.

Thank you to Alpster, Road Warrior and Ghoti for the wonderful grub guys......it was great!

Thanks for Procrafter for fishing with me on Saturday.........he put me on the fish.

Thank you Long Mike, Roadwarrior, Alpster and Big O for putting up with us every night ..........pretty late on some nights. The 'impromptu' get together every night was very entertaining to say the least..........especially learning about TACO.............the 2 faced cat ;-)

Thanks to Glenn and Keri for everything you guys do.

It was great meeting everyone in person........you all are great people.

It was good seeing everybody again, as well as meeting new friends.  Wish I could have been there the whole time, but you all know how that goes.  Glad everyone made as fond of memories as I did, and even though we had to put up with Long Mike AND Ghoti the whole time, it wasn't so bad!!!!

Hope to see everyone again soon, and lets start planning for the Road Trip 2014!!  No excuses!!

I bet it's in Jeff's boat.  If you recall, we put 2 of your rods in the rod locker yesterday. I'd fathom a bet you took the 3 on the deck, but not the 2 in the locker, when you went home.

Eufaula next year? Alapark.com/LakepointResort /

Nicole and I stopped here on the way home and it was really nice...

Actually we are still on the way home. We had a mechanical issue that I could not fix with hair spray and we are still in Gainesville fl waiting on the tow truck and my dad to get here. We will be home by midnight.

Just one of those weeks.

We had a great time meeting everyone and are looking forward to next year.

Can't wait to see all of the pictures and video.

Sorry you are having trouble getting home, that stinks!  Thanks again for the cabin and for putting up with me & my inexperience Sunday, I learned a lot!

Pickwick Lake elevation: 416.78 ft. and rising at the time of this report. Last week’s and weekend’s rainfall has raised lake level about 2 feet over summer pool. For bass, anglers are catching good numbers of fish, but the quality bite is a bit tougher to come by. 40-60 fish days are common right now, but most of the fish are less 15 inches long. It took 23lbs to win a local team tournament this past weekend. The spawn is continuing, but fluctuating lake levels has hindered it somewhat. A variety of lures are working right now. Some anglers are reporting a decent buzzbait bite in some of the backwater areas where grass and bushes are flooded. Others are throwing weightless and T-rigged soft plastics for those more lethargic fish. Some anlgers have resorted to using shakeyheads to catch some of these fish as well.

^^^^^ this was the fishing report published on 5/1/13, Wends. of the road trip. And basically EXACTLY how it went down.

Glenn, Rhino and others were on the senko bite

Gene, 00mod, myself and others were on the shakeyhead/ jig bite

and Bassinisaddicting Fishydaddy and others reported a topwater bite

Are we good as a group or what????

Home safe and sound.

I'm home, safe and sound.  Left around 9:30 a.m. (Central time zone) Sunday, arrived back home in MA about 9:30 a.m. (eastern time) Monday morning.

Another great road trip is in the books.  Great to see old friends and make some new ones.

Keep Steezy and his wife in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm now in recovery mode.  Good to be back home with my wife.  The lawn isn't too bad.  Will get it done today.

All those in favor of doing it again after a couple of days to recharge the batteries say "Aye".
