Lostinthewoods
I've yet to read my way through this entire thread so I will just ask here... Any of you guys catching bass in the Seekonk area? If so where have you had luck?
grampa1114
TOTGA......the pickerel are in full bloom at Webster Lake and if you are lucky there might be a Bass or two in the mix. Thursday and today were the same results. They were hitting spinnerbaits, crankbaits and Swimmin' Ribsters....oh yeah they were hitting little Sluggos too.
The one that got away
Thanks Gramps. I'm hoping to get out Sunday morning, either to Webster or another place a bit closer to me in Northbridge. Thanks for the tips, that should help me with the game plan if I end up at Webster
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted January 16, 2014 Author Super User Share Posted January 16, 2014 Getting close to that time again, with the recent warming trend, I wonder if any of our water down the Cape or Plymouth had any soft water? I see some here and there, but still considerable amounts of ice. If any soft water is out there, it will be frozen by mid-next week when the next arctic blast comes in. Anyone get a license yet? I'm looking to do that soon. I haven't even looked to see if we had any increases yet.
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted January 17, 2014 Author Super User Share Posted January 17, 2014 I couldn't believe it, but I've been working in Boston off of Beacon Street along the Charles the last 2 weeks. The building was flooded due to the recent cold snap (Polar Vortex) and had some pipes crack and filled the basement where the boilers were located. Well anyway, the Charles was solid ice, but today I saw a lot of open water. Too bad we're in for another cold snap by mid-week.

BTW, I don't have the GPS app on my phone, so I'll never be able to locate that pond...

WHO-WHO! I go by that most days on my way home! Popped by BHR Tuesday afternoon to snoop around & try out the Sonar-Phone I bought over the winter. The open water between the road and that first point gets to between 24 & 27' deep. Water temp was 33.8, so we still have a little way to go. Soon enough, though. Super User DogBone_384 Posted March 28, 2014 Super User Share Posted March 28, 2014 Blue Hill Res was wide open today Good to hear. Now all I need is a day off so I can get back there and map the place out (basic topo map from: the MWRA's website) my Sonar-Phone and, God forbid, throw a lure or two....

Don't let the temps stop you, my PB came 1 1/2 weeks after ice out on a spinnerbait. There are some big girls swimming about.

bass_masster
I've yet to read my way through this entire thread so I will just ask here... Any of you guys catching bass in the Seekonk area? If so where have you had luck? Not quiet Seekonk but I'm around New Bed/Dartmouth and work in Lakeville, I've had luck the past 2 weeks with large jerk baits (looong pauses) and heavy slow jigs. It's late this year, and they're slow to warm up, but they're getting there.
bucketmouth_fishin
I was fishing over in Billerica, Ma today. Ended up throwing the black/blue football jig with a Orange Havoc craw trailer and came out big. My PB LMB, had to be over 6+. Still a little bit of ice on the pond but the bass don't care! Fish on the warmer side of the water and thats where you'll find them.
