Federal HST and Speer Gold Dot are my favorite. There is a guy on youtube who did extensive testing on a slew of hollow points to FBI standards. Tested in both long and short barrel guns. At this time I only carry Federal HST just because I can easily get it locally. Practice ammo I buy 500-1000 at a time when deals spring up or just when needed. Ammoseek.com makes life easy for hunting down ammo.

Anyone have hands on with the new S&W Bodyguard 2.0? Briefly held one and have been thinking of picking one up as a really slim option for dressier/slimmer attire when I really need it.

EDIT: saw what a squib round does to a bolt gun in person. Was at a match where majority of people hand load their rounds and he must have short charged it or primer only but it only made it partially through the barrel. No one must have noticed the pressure blow out the pressure ports of the action and the next round peeled the barrel like a banana.

I bought a bodyguard 2.0 on Christmas. Sights were shooting 2inches left at 10yds. 12 round magazine only loads to 11. Other than that I really like it.  No issues with hollow points. Almost at 1000 round count with it. Great little gun but Smiths QC always been a little sketchy.

This was my main squeeze this winter.  Transitioning to the dot has been amazing. It's a little bit of work moving from iron sights but well worth it. Starting to warm up and will use the Bodyguard 2.0 for summer or the M&P 3.6 compact.

  • I have a genuine, classic, S&W Mod 36, J frame, .38 special snubnose, that I carry in a Desantis IWB holster almost every time I leave my house.   "It's better to have it and not need it

Recently changed it up and got myself a Shield Plus in 9mm. I love my P07 but for full days carrying and in slimmer stuff over the summer it can get heavy and hard to conceal. Was going to get a glock

  • I live in a rural area so guns and hunting are a popular topic around here. Yes, carry daily and all vehicles are armed as well. Oh and AR leaning against the bedroom wall 😁

@FishTax I just recently found out they did away with purchase permits for people without a CCP. Smart seeing as the Sheriff does the same exact NICS check the gun stores do. That was just an extra "tax" to purchase in my opinion. Agreed on the 500 rounds minimum, I take it a little further and carry a new gun cocked but without one in the chamber for a bit. My little added insurance that how I carry, holster setup, etc. doesnt cause a negligent discharge that would likely end up with my 6ft under with appendix carry. Just about every night when we get into bed I'll take my CCW and do some presentation/dry fire drills. Really helps stay proficient between range trips, even if they are quite a bit apart.

@928JLH Love that M&P. That's the exact one I've been eye balling and it will either come down to that or a Glock 19 in the near future. I seem to always have a tendency to be sights high when presenting a M&P and I have no idea why them specifically. No issues with Glock, CZ, 1911s, Ruger, etc. Also, every M&P I've owned has been zeroed in pretty far left, havent owned one I havent had to adjust sights on yet. Ended up with the Glock 42 over the Bodyguard 2.0, just fit better.

I usually carry a S&W 632UC (32 H&R mag) in my pocket.  It doesn't have the recoil of a +p 38 in an airweight revolver, plus I get six rounds instead of five.

What Holosun dot is that? I’m looking to get one on my p365.

I carry, bought my wife and 2 daughters a Rugar LCP || 9mm pistol.

Yes we all have CC permits but what I like about the pistol is no external safety, internal, no guessing and no hammer to draw.

God forbid the need for sudden protection but slinging lead quickly is made simple with these firearms.

And yes, all my girls have been to the range.

407c. I have been very surprised with holosun. Several thousand rounds and no issues.

I carry a M&P shield 9mm mostly. With shorts and a tee shirt a Ruger LCP .380

I have the bigger version, which is a M&P Pro 9.  Way too big and bulky to carry around but it's a great range gun because of the longer barrel, fiber optic site, improved trigger, and 17 round clip capacity.

I carry a glock 45 now for my service weapon. Have not had any issues with it, and I prefer it to my glock 17 that I carried.
