I have guns in my home and my wife and I know how to use them. I don't want a gun in my car or on my person This is kind of how I feel too. All mine are in my safe because I’m honestly more worried about someone stealing them than I am worried about having to use one. I am not against people’s right to carry one though. Every person here in MN who has one is required to take a safety course and pass a range accuracy test. Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted August 16, 2022 Super User Posted August 16, 2022 In the world we live in today, especially if you lived in a city of any real size, a G19.5 with RMR06 and Streamlight TLR-7A carried inside an AIWB with a g17 spare mag would make perfect sense. If you're carrying for SD/PD, than one might be inclined to go with best terminal ballistic 9mm round on the market....the 147gr. HST by Federal. Then again I just like to fish 3 Quote
Drawdown Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 I realized it’s extremely uncomfortable driving and carrying 6 o’clock. So lately I stick it in the glove compartment, where it stays most of the summer. Once cooler weather rolls around, I carry a lot more. Sadly, I carry most of the time around the house—neighbors have poorly socialized pit bulls across the street. And I’m not taking a chance their “prey reflex” (or whatever term pit bull apologists favor) kicks in while my toddlers are trying to play on the trampoline. 2 Quote
ScottW Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Having worked all over the greater Birmingham, AL area, some places I was nervous to drive through, I carried legal all the time. It’s saved my bacon more than once. 9mm is the cartridge of choice and a S&W MP Shield w/ 8 rd mag is what I carry daily. It hides well with no tell-tale bulge. That said my all time favorite is the .45 ACP. Just too darn heavy for summertime attire. ? 3 Quote
NavyToad Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Sig P938 on my person and keep a .38 snubnose in my vehicle’s center console. Why? I refuse to be terrorized by some loser. 4 Quote

papajoe222 Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 I carried a S&W 642 daily,when I worked. It's now my back-up, in an ankle holser, when I'm wearing pants. In the summer, it's a Glock 43 in a cross draw (I drive a lot) otherwise, it's a 19 under a light jacket and the wheel gun on my ankle. 3 Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted December 12, 2022 Super User Posted December 12, 2022 ^ What he said. I did have a CC permit when I worked a job where I was transporting money...but when the job ended so did my CC permit. Never re-uped it, don't see the need for myself. Quote
Will Ketchum Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 I don't carry since where I live it's relatively safe. We're mostly a bunch of small towns abutting up against each other. I think in a lot of cases, pulling a gun could get you into more trouble than out of trouble. 1 Quote
Smells like fish Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Back on topic: I have in the past carried the Beretta Bobcat .22lr, then the Shield 9mm, then the LCP .380 for its small size and now I’ve adjusted to pocket carry the 9mm Sig P365 anytime I leave my home. I also carry a spare mag. 2 Quote
Susky River Rat Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 I carry a glock43 small and light enough I can carry it in the waist band of my gym shorts. I do carry a spare mag with it. 2 Quote

Super User Deleted account Posted December 23, 2022 Super User Posted December 23, 2022 It's like you left a 19 in the dryer too long?...I've only shot a borrowed pink one, but even with an extended mag, It's just too small for my liking. Otherwise it's a great little gun. 1 Quote
InfantryMP Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 I carry the P365XL and now I also carry a Taurus G3c. I like the Taurus with the 3.2" barrel making it a bit easier to conceal. I also liked the cost. I paid $300 with a $50 mail in rebate for it, and it came with 3 mags. Now here in GA, we can just carry open or concealed with the new Constitutional Carry law being enacted. caribouhunter Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 S&W Model 357PD. 41 mag has the size and power without major recoil. why carry? One never knows what you will encounter. Not looking for trouble, but want to be safe if needed. 1 Quote
Rockytop Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I carry a Glock 29sf if I'm carrying concealed. If I'm open carrying in the woods or whatever I carry a Kimber rapide 10mm or a Ruger sp101 in .357 mag with a 4.2" barrel. I've always got my Colt Junior .25 ACP in my pocket. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 21, 2023 Super User Posted May 21, 2023 Started carrying a Ruger LCR in .357 1 Quote

Super User slonezp Posted May 23, 2023 Super User Posted May 23, 2023 It also takes 38 and 38+P rounds Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted May 23, 2023 Super User Posted May 23, 2023 Lol yeah I know. The .357 is a few ounces heavier than the .38 model but I imagine it's still a handful with full power magnum loads. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 23, 2023 Super User Posted May 23, 2023 I'll let you know. Haven't fired it yet. I'm currently working 6 days a week and haven't found time to go to the range. I used to have the LCR in 38sp and it wasn't a bad gun and very controllable. Gave it to my dad during the heart of the riots in Chicago a couple years back. I went to the store recently looking for another 38. They had a ton of S&W J frames in 38 and I didn't care for them. There was one LCR in another cabinet that I found...the salesman didn't even know it was there. It came with Hogue grips and they help take the sting out. I used to have a Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454 casull with Hogue grips and they were a godsend. That being said, I won't be putting thousands of rounds thru this. It's just a pocket gun. It just needs to be reliable. 1 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted May 23, 2023 Super User Posted May 23, 2023 Yeah the LCR is a nice little gun, it's perfect to throw in a pocket and with the Hogue grips it absorbs recoil pretty well. I probably would have bought the .357 too, had they had one when I got mine, good to have the option. I will never forget shooting my dad's snub nose .357 when I was a kid, couldn't have been more than 8 or 9. He'd loaded it with some low power .38's but put a full power .357 magnum in the last chamber. I got to that last shot and the gun nearly jumped out of my hand and he's just standing over there laughing. 1 Quote
