Pinemountainpetie Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I usually carry when not on the job, they frown highly upon it. But I usually carry a SW .40... Quote
Shockwave Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 EDC is a Springfield XD Mod 2 9MM in a N82 IWB holster. Can't carry at work but anywhere else I go, I'm carrying. Quote
Burntorangefan Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 HK P30SK daily in all but winter months. Full size P30 when I get to cover with sweatshirts, jackets, etc. Both gums are light LEM. A choice that was made after years of carrying DA/SA. Quote
Super User NHBull Posted May 3, 2017 Super User Posted May 3, 2017 The Mrs and I both carry the Shield.......of all the guns I own, it is the most comfortable and easiest to conceal Quote
38 Super Fan Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I'm a 1911 guy, which you may have guessed from my screen name: 1 Quote
Stasher1 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 M&P9c in a Looper leather IWB holster with a spare mag on the weak side. I also have an Alien Gear holster that's a decent backup, but I'd never recommend them to anyone. I had a problem with my order and had to involve my CC company to get it resolved. Decent product, but questionable business (imho). 1 Quote
FishDewd Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 My EDC is either a Taurus PT40 G2: .40 S&W, a Beretta PX4 Storm type F: 9mm, or a Bersa Firestorm: .380 ACP. This one is generally the one that lives in my car. I do have a few revolvers, but they are mostly for shooting in the back yard, or if I want to look good at a gun show. For example: My Ruger Vaquero in .45 colt. For EDC guns, I like to be able to conceal them in case I go to a place which frowns upon open carry, or if I just don't feel having everyone see it. Usually I do go concealed. So I don't like EDC weapons like 1911s and most revolvers. Quote
Russ E Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 I carry most of the time. if I am around others its usually my springfield XDM compact or S&W M&P 9c. I prefer not to draw attention, so i keep them concealed. If I am in the woods, it is usually my S&W 686 or my Sig emperor scorpion 1911. they go on my hip. I don't try to conceal them. Quote

BigAngus752 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Every single day, everywhere I go for just shy of 27 years. The firearm and holster varies with the seasons, how I'm dressed, and/or where I'm going. This is one of my favorites. I just call it 'Merica. 1 Quote
Smalls Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Commander sized 1911... in 9mm cause I like to be difficult. STI that I’ve had some work done on. Nothin crazy, just some detailed fitting and tightening up. Although, it seems to be getting heavier than I ever remember. Been toying with the idea of switching platforms. Nothin screams at me when I pick it up like a 1911 does. Quote
Fish the Mitt Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I carry, almost daily, a CZ P07 Gen2. Caliber: .40 Ammo: Hydra Shok JHP 1 Quote

I've never actually seen a CZ shotgun in person but I bet it's really nice. The pistols I like cause of the ergonomics- they feel so darn good in the hand. That matters a lot to me in a carry weapon. Main reason I don't have one is due to the price, kind of living on a budget atm. Quote

FishDewd Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Sigs are also very nice, I just haven't handled too many of them to have much opinion on functionality. But really... I like my little Taurus. I got it for $130 at a pawn shop and it hadn't even been fired. Fits me really well, and it's a gun I can beat up, knock around, and cheap enough that I ever break it (looking unlikely though tbh) I can just get another one lol. Quote
JimW Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 American Tactical 1911 Combat Commander in 45 ACP stoked with 245 grain JHP spare mag. Belt slide holster made by a good friend who works leather. Also I swap out with a Smith Bodyguard in 380 stoked with 90 grain FTX Critical Defense. Why? Because I can. Every day, all day Quote
Russ E Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 I have wanted one of these as a carry gun in the woods, since they came out, but the cost was more than I was willing to spend. I had a Glock 23 and a Daniel Defense rifle, I have not shot for a long time. The local gun shop accepted them in trade for this. A 10mm Sig Sauer P220 Hunter in Kryptek camo. shoots like a dream. 2 Quote
Adam.love05 Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 A lot of nice guns gents! I usually always carry a Glock (43or19) wherever I go. One of the perks of living in Vermont! I also have a Walther PPQ that I LOVE but it's just to big to CC so it sits in the cabinet with all my other range pistols.. another great range gun is a century arms canik tp9sf. I got it for $250 new and it shoots as well as my Walthers, Glocks and s&w if not better.. I'd never carry it because it doesn't have the reliability of a Glock Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 25, 2018 Super User Posted March 25, 2018 Since my original post in this thread is 4 years old, my carry gun has changed. The ol' full sized 1911 was good for around the farm, but not so out in the public eye at my new job of a garbage man/truck driver. I have retired the 1911 to the safe, and now (and for the last year or so) have been carrying a S&W Shield in 9mm. Year round it's in an IWB Alien Gear Clock tuck holster. I usually have the flush fit 7rd mag in the gun, and the extended 8rd'er in my left pants/shorts pocket. Very comfortable and light compared to the full 5" 1911's I was used to carrying. I have tried a few different types of ammo in it, and I shoot best with 147 grain Federal HST's, so that's what I carry in it. It's a bit snappy with that load, but I found it to be quite accurate at 5-10 yards which is all I ask for out of a small CC pistol. After I bought this Shield, it took me a year or so to start carrying it regularly, it was quite the learning curve to switch and shoot well from single action 1911's, to a striker fired gun. I practiced A LOT with it, and am decent with it now. The biggest improvement I made was after putting a Houge grip sleeve on the gun. I have huge paws, with short fat fingers, and IDK what it was, but putting that grip sleeve on turned my shooting around with that gun. 1 1 Quote
StratDude Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 On duty, I carry what my agency provides us with.. All I'll say is it's a Beretta and I hate it.. But you can't change the minds of the Feds, I like my salary so it is what it is. Off duty, that's different. I either carry one of my 1911's, a Glock 19, Glock 31, or Glock 32... And they're always wrapped in a leather Galco.. Why pay $500-$1500 for a nice piece and carry it in a $20 holster? 1 Quote
optimator Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 If I'm not at work I'm carrying. What depends on how I'm dressed at the time. But it's usually either a 642, Shield or a full sized M&P 2.0. Quote
AC870 Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 My job has a policy of no weapons in the building. But I carry in the truck and nearly always when I’m out with the family. I wanted something that would disappear in a pocket. I carry a Kahr CW380. Quote
CybrSlydr Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I've considered it, but I go way too many places where it's prohibited - I work for a community college library and I attend a private college full-time, so almost 100% of my day is in places where I'm not allowed to carry. The thought of getting my license so I can shoulder-holster carry while out fishing has occurred to me, but I haven't acted on it yet. Quote
