Really don't know that there is a "best."

If I had to pick one I would say Sufix. Lucky for us, there are several good options available

Power Pro Slick 8 is it as "durable" as original power pro? and how long does that coating last on the line?

Ive only used original PowerPro. Never had a reason to use anything else.

I've tried more brands of braided line than I care to admit..LOL   

I used PowerPro for a couple years until ending up with a faulty spool. I must say,

Shimano was aboveboard and admitted that there was a bad batch in their 30-lb bulk spools

and they offered me a free bulk spool (which I declined). Sufix 832 is excellent line but

my current favorite is Berkley Trilene Tracer Braid. It has same round cross-section

and 8-member construction as Sufix 832.

Don't really have a favorite but I do buy more PP than anything else.  I use Fins every now and then, works as well as anything else.

I prefer the Sufix braids.

I have tried them all and keep going back to either Sunline SX1 for more "finesse" tactics or Sunline FX2 for the "heavier" approach mostly froggin and flipping. I think this is hands down the best braid on the market it's super round, supple, and to me most importantly it HOLDS it's color I cannot stand having my reel,rods, and hands all green after fishing for 1 hour. I tried Suffix 832 one time and will never do that again that stuff bleeds green like no other line I have ever fished I stripped it all off on my boat that day with my hands trashed full of green dye. If you have the funds to do it the right way buy Sunline FX2 or SX1 if you don't then just get Power Pro.

I like original Power Pro. Is it the best? Probably not, but it's far from the worst.

I regularly rotate power pro, super slick, and sufix performance, whatevers on sale. I just tried izorline spectra which i really liked as well. Regular power pro tends to be on sale alot and works great for me.

Power Pro! Not only is it one of the cheapest on the market, but I have not had one issue with it.

I do the same as hooligan.  If I see PowerPro or Suffix on sale I'll probably pick it up, even if I don't need it immediately, I know I'll need it down the road.

Another vote for PowerPro.  Tried others and always end up right back.

I use Spiderwire Ultimate mostly but if I find the other two brands on clear out or on sale when I need some ill pick them up. They are all good brands. I just really like the spiderwire, not gonna say its any bettter than the others. They are all good. I use the cheaper PP and SW on striper, catfish, and flounder rigs.

The list above is in no particular order. Except for Spiderwire on top is what I have on all of my bass rods right now.

I like Power Pro, Suffix 832, and Sunline FX2, Most of my rods have Power Pro because it is affordable and really strong. But I really do like Sunline FX2 it is a dollar cheaper than 832 and i think just as strong. I think the color on FX2 last longer than most braids as well IMO

My favorite has to be Sunline FX2 for heavy lb test and FX1 for light lb test. Sunline makes the best braid in my opinion, but if I had to choose another brand it would be Power Pro. 

Power Pro works fine for me! 50lb on my jig and frog rods and 65lb for the rig.

Add another Power Pro down but I also like the suffix 832. I've tried many others but PP will always be the go to. IMO it has the best all-round qualities such as casting, strength, and I also found it doesn't fray as easy.
