Squarebill And Lipless Crank Rod?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a rod to use for squarebills and lipless cankbaits. I have a few veritas and vendettas but I don't think they are the right rods, and I'm looking to a different brand rod. Any suggestions? Rod must be under 7'3" and under $150. Thanks!

Powell 684cb if u can find one .. It throws 1.5's flawlessly and traps 1/2 oz and under also an awesome jerkbait rod and u won't find a better topwater rod ... I have 3 of them ...u don't ever lose a fish on it and it has enough back bone to handle big fish easily .. I fish lake fork and have hauled in numerous bass over 8lbs

Powell squarebill rod. It's 6'9" h/mf. It will handle squarebills, lipless, and spinnerbaits well!

I've heard some good things about the St. Croix Mojo Target Cranker.

There's a review for it on ***, type in St. Croix in their search box and it'll be the first link.

Denali Jadewood or the Kovert. The Kovert IMHO is the best rod on the market for $150 or under. But if you want to stay at around $99 then go with the Jadewood. The Jadewood has been out longer and has more technique specific models than the Kovert as well. But a 7' MH Kovert would be my first choice.

Daiwa Tatula 7' M/R or 7'1" MH/R or 7'2" MH/R

Can you tell me the exact handle length b/w these 3 rods from butt to back of reel seat. (do not want the reel seat included...just the actual handle size)
