Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

That one has a spot built into the deck for it so it takes up zero space. I'll get a longer one once I can start fishing kayak tournaments I'm sure. Catching them too long for board isn't ever a bad thing though :)

I'll bet your kayak tourneys require the Hawg Trough?

Though I don't fish 'em, I believe some locally do. I use

one and though awesome, it can break easily. Have

had to use zip ties and super glue to keep it together.

Stud smallie! That thing is shaped like a missile. I bet it fought like no other!

Oh yeah! On a weak little jerkbait rod too, it was a heck of a fight. I think it was probably my PB smallie, I didn't have a scale though.

We got this little chunker on Guntersville today in the grass on a drop shot. Pretty slow day overall though.

Put in about 4 hours over 6 ponds today. Landed 3. Largest was somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.5-4lbs.

10.5 pounds. 4 fish. 3, 3 pounders on shaky head zoom cranberry flake colored in 2 hours.

Wore these little dudes out. Fished for 1.5 hours and barely moved. Stopped at a nice even 50 so I could get some sleep today. Only took 1 rod with 1 65 pointer and that was all I needed. A bunch of cold water dinks in February, I'm not complaining.

Man you guys are killin me! Some really great reports recently. Wish I had some soft water.

Beautiful day out today. Got done filling bait orders and couldn't help but go back to my dink lake. They were not stacked like yesterday, or I wasn't catching them as good. I did get what was by far the biggest bass I'd caught from there at that spot.

decided to go hit the mouth of the main spawning cove. Casting my.little 65 pointer and catching dinks pretty steady, I was thinking if there's a big one in here, she ought to be soaking up this sun right on the edge of this flat. Sure enough, she was there!

No scale, wasn't expecting to catch a 2 pounder,  let alone one like that. Fat and healthy and  she swam away strong after her glamour shots.

After a good day of bass fishing the bite went cold late in the day today when suddenly I caught three monster crappy on a jerk bait.

In 5 minutes I caught a 1 lb 14oz,  l lb 11oz and this big 2 lb 2oz.  I know the State record is well over 3 lbs but a 2 pound crappy is not that common and I caught 3 big ones in about 8 casts.  Crazy.

Put my kayak on a small lake here in Northern West Virginia today, I landed 6 small bass, one on the jerkbait, and the rest on a 1/4oz lipless. Water was freezing cold and they were incredibly sluggish but they know the days are getting longer!

@NCbassraider

Had a 1.16 Slab the other day...ccut him up...sseasoned him with garlic salt, onion powder, and a sprinkle of habanero powder. Wrapped it in some foil and through a slice of lime in there. Mmmmm mmmmm good!!!! Don't forget to soak the meat in milk though!!

Unless you like to fry fish!! Of that's the case you'd be better off buying catfish 2$/1lb from HEB!!

d**n the water in that lake is so crystal clear, I wish my lake was half that.

That's what I hear but I don't eat fresh water fish.  Just don't like it, seafood only for me.  I have a buddy that comes out to my place and takes the crappy and big blue gill home to eat.  He loves them and I need the panfish thinned out so it's a win-win.

Fillet them put in the freezer and Fedex this way lol.

There was really only about 4' of visibility, there is a lot of limestone around here so water gets that greenish stain to it, not like anything I have fished before.

I caught a bass with no color. Just silver. Oh, I caught a crappie too, been awhile.

my cousin told me they are biting on lay lake too .scoot over I'm coming down this wen. save some for me!:D

Fun day on Lake Anna today...Shame that first one was so skinny, it was looooong.  Couple good fish and filled the day with 14 to 16 inchers, awesome for February.  I also caught several sight fishing in less than 2 feet of water, which was fun and a little unexpected given the 49 degree water temps.

Crankbait, Swing-head, and shakeyhead accounted for all fish.
