Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Was finally able to hit the water after a near 10 day hiatus (Got married and went on honeymoon).

Got a chance to get out on the water on my day off, it was tough but managed one small fatty pitching a brush hog. The after work fishing at the local park has been hot fishing the rc stx.

Got some rain and snow at the end of this week so the water was up and pretty dirty. 2-3' vis at best. Somehow found a school of them in 30FOW. Caught them on keitech swing impact 4" on 1/4 and 3/8oz heads. Weird fishing here in WV.

Today my West Virginia PB moved from 3.94 to 4.51... Definitely earned this one, I had a bit of a morning flurry, but after that I went 6 hours with 2 bites, this being one of them!

We had the first of 7 buddy tournaments yesterday, only had 2 keepers. The weather late last week made it a tough bite. My partner had one pickerel all day, and I had these and one that we couldn't quite get the tail to touch the 12" mark (11 31/32). A beautiful day on the water though, once the sun came up and it wasn't 32 degrees any longer. 20170409_142920_1.thumb.jpg.eee089403b3642925b2bbf5f5af90ab7.jpg

Biggest was 4.5lbs. I didn't weigh the other two, but 2.5-3lbs if I had to guess.

Found a couple on beds today, managed to catch one before a thunderstorm chased me off the lake, I didn't paddle fast enough and had to hunker down in a low spot while it passed, but made it back in one piece!

Found this little guy floating/swimming lazily on his side. I scooped him up out of the water to snap a quick pic, and he flopped out of my hand. I thought for sure he was dead, but I put him back in the water and he swam away. Definitely the smallest bass I've ever "caught".

And I also saw this one cruising rip rap for shad, two casts and he took the lure.

A little Plopper at dusk. I hit a few on a Rage lizard too, but the lizard bite isn't on yet.

I freed this robin from some braid that it got tangled in. Knotted around its neck and both feet/legs it was in a perdickerment:sad1:.  I only had long nose pliers with wire cutter so it wasnt very easy being gentle around its neck took about 45 minutes to get all braid off of it. It looked away camera shy and all.

Caught using BPS black buzz bait. I didn't weigh her, but she felt about 6.5 lbs. She fought like a 1 lber; no fight when I dragged her through the grass... must be weak from spawning?
