Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

Lipped them/halfway grabbed the rig. I don't know how it all worked out. I have landed 3 doubles in 3 days of fishing, I though they were supposed to be uncommon on an a-rig!

Hit Gaston last weekend for a team tournament...Had a great practice day and disappointing tournament day (we got 4th), but it's always fun to fish my favorite lake :).  Most fish were caught on Jigs and Swingheads with several also coming on shakeyheads.

The wind kicked into overdrive about an hour before weigh in and made for a pretty hellish ride back to the ramp...Thankfully we only had to go a few miles but crossing the main lake was bad.  Several boats did not make it to weigh in because they couldn't get across the main lake.  I've seen some rough stuff on the Potomac, Upper Bay, and Erie...and this ride ranked right up there with the worst I've been in.  We were both wearing PFDs and it's a good reminder to always wear them...I've never seen Gaston get even close to this rough, but with 40-50 mph winds anything is possible.

A bite on that rig is uncommon for me. I gave up after donating a few to the bottom of the river. I know it catches fish but it's not for poor folk. Especially when you spend all the money and don't get a bite. Then cast a rattle trap and catch one in the first 5 minutes

Never had a double nor a single fish on the outside arms. BTW, The Rig is also the #1 presentation for stripers!

I think I'm catching more fish on the outside arms than the inside right now. Doesn't make sense. Stripers usually hit the inside, this is the first time I've gotten into bass on the rig.

Had a little time to kill before Thanksgiving dinner at my wife's grandparents' place. They've got a little pond on their land, but it's way down and I've never fished it.

Caught 8, hooked 10 in an hour and a half. Biggest is in the middle, approached 2lbs.

Monster scale certified 10 pounder. Personal best. Caught her on a rattle trap on my wife's uncle's busted Shakespeare flipping reel with hardly any drag. The reel is permanently stuck in flipping freespool mode. Despite the gear challenges I walked her at water level from the dock to the bank for some family photos. Wife's unc put it on the scale and started ranting and raving cause it came out of his pond. A really awesome moment.

The nerves are visible on my face as I just knew she was coming unbuttoned when I saw how she was skin hooked when she surfaced. Everybody had given up fishing but me and went on to other stuff. No one was around to see "the one that got away" She stayed on and I have a lot to be thankful for.

^NIce, Quan.  Impressive fish.

I never had confidence there was enough clear water for a good jerk bait bite around here.

(I boated some on lipless yesterday, but never would have considered a pointer)

The pinned jerkbait thread in here is so worth a read if you want to learn about them, lots of good info!! @Choporoz

Bank fishing, ghost shad lipless crank. Sub 50 outside temp. No clue about water temp, which brings this question--why is this fish so light in color? Is it the water temperature? This is probably the lightest colored bass I've caught in recent memory(if not ever).

Fish can get that washed out color in cold water, open water, and also in dirty water (which doesn't appear to be the case in your picture). I'm not sure the exact reason but I believe it may be due to changes in circulation in the fishes blood caused by the colder water.

Here's a fun comparison, a beautifully marked baby LMB from a similar pond 2 miles down the road. Caught under the same conditions, 2 days ago:
