Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

Nice fish!!

You can find a used depth finder on CL, Does not have to be the best thing in the world, All that other stuff is not to much to do. You could upgrade the Yak and still get an outboard. Have 2 different fishing platforms.

Got a new rod to try out Okuma Helios 7' M/F. Nice and light and good balance with core50. Throwing saltwater ikas on slop and managed a couple 17" 15". Also throwing a Rage Swimmer next to a fish crib for a 16"er. The Helios rod is a keeper the fish got put back:thumbsup_blue:

Yak fishing is the way to go ?

We get to fish for bass that don't see baits because no one can get to them

I thought I'd buy a boat sooner or later.

Then I started kayaking semi-regularly.

Then I started bringing a rod with me when I saw somebody else fishing out of a kayak.

Then I bought another kayak specifically for fishing.

And all of a sudden, I found I didn't need or want a boat any more...

Hit the local golf course this evening and landed a couple of these pound and a halfers. The tail walk by this one was awesome. Drop shot and Senko didn't the work. I just fished my new Revo MGX baitcaster on my weightless setup tonight and was VERY impressed!

Things have been crazy at work the last week and a half or so and it hasn't left me with much free time to contribute a whole lot on here. Figured I'd throw up some of the catches the last few weeks. I haven't been catching tons of numbers lately, but some very solid fish have been coming over the side of the boat

Booyah! And my buzz bait keeps churning out big bass! This is a GIANT for north Missouri!

That is a giant for anywhere in Missouri. Of course if you listen to people, you would think stringers of five pounders are Commonplace here and everyone has a buddy who caught a ten pounder in this pond just last week.

Got a couple chunks tonight pitching to over-hanging trees. Only a few bites, but they were good ones.

How do you get fish that small hooked?? Ahhh, Ned rig!! That's what you guys are always talking  about.

  • Super User

Well nothing I was throwing was working senko ika jig keitech impact fat so went for gills. Started using 1" gulp minnow on 1/80 jighead size 10 and not even one bluegill caught.

  • Super User

You should feel more accomplished for caching multiple fish that size! Heck anyone can get a hook in a 5 pound basses mouth. Heck some can fit a whole fist in there, but to catch something that small takes extra skill!!
