What Did You Catch Your Pb On?

Featured Replies

I caught a 7.3 largemouth that hit a 2lb largemouth that hit a LC pointer. So technically I caught it on live bait. But it still counts to me!

Original lunker lure buzzbait, 6 pounds 14 ounces. My best this year was a 5 pound 5 ouncer on a cavitron buzzbait. Both my other six pluses came on zoom lizards.

First broke 6 this year.  Twice.  Both on Rage Tails: one on green Cut-R, one on green Bug

I'm fascinated by the range of replies.    Guess that's what keeps this interesting and also keeps the Bait Monkey alive and kicking

PB 1/4oz black and blue jig with a black and blue rage craw trailer. It was soooo cold out I was about to call it a day. My hands were absolutely freezing.

My best this year has been on either a s-waver or deps ss I don't remember really

PB was caught with a T-rigged Brush Hog (Watermelon Candy.)

Largest this year was on a Spro Aruku Shad Lipless Crank (Magic Shad.)

I've caught the most 4 lbers + on a green pumpkin jig with a beaver trailer. I caught my PB on a skinny dipper in white trash color

Personal best and second to personal best were each caught on Glass Shad Raps (White and Chartreuse).  I do use other cranks as well but the Shad Rap has been my best.

One of you high school kids should pile through this thread and create a bar graph for us old guys. This is your "back-to-school" homework.

I'm seeing a lot of jigs and t-rigs, not a lot of patterns!

I started out with topwater as a category, then got a lot more towards the end!  If I would have known how high the count would be, I would have broken them down further.  I also put flukes and skinny dippers together as a similar bait.

For some reason you can't zoom in...here's the photobucket link!  http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o192/zachvu/fish.jpg~original

That is awesome!

On a frog called a Ribbit. It sinks slowly and you can bump the stump with it, witch works, but if you reel slowly to keep it at the top and twitch it hear and there, the bass cant keep off of it. I started fishing a new spot and caught my old PB, went back to the spot 2 days later and caught my currant PB. From then on its been my go to lure.

My PB came around dusk @ Blue Hills Reservoir in the fall of 2012. I used a T-rigged zoom U-tale in gourd green, which is still my best performing worm.

BTW - I hope to post another PB by the end of the season.

Mine was a 7.6 pounder on a 3" pumpkinseed tube bait lol.  I borrowed a friend's waders and waded about 10 feet from shore so I could get the bait to the drop-off and...  It didn't hit the bait hard, but felt more like I got hung up in weeds.  After pulling, I felt the fish on and started getting it in.  When it broke water right in front of me, I almost wet myself.  This was before cell phone cameras (before cell phones actually) so after I released it, I had a hard time convincing my college fishing buddies that it ever happened.  :cry3:
