Red And White Crankbait?

Featured Replies

Im looking for a crankbait type lure with a simple red & white paint job.

Im not finding it.

Do they not make these anymore?

Might check some saltwater bait companies, it's a very popular color in the salt it seems like.

This is true.

You can still get the venerable Jitterbug in red head/white body. :)

You can always find someone to custom paint some lures up for you.

Funny to think about....It seems like back in the '60's, three or four out of five of my father's and grandfather's bass lures were red and white.....Bass Oreno's, Creek Chubs, Jitterbugs, Daredevils, etc.

Back in the day, the "redhead" as it was called (white plug, red head) was the most popular color scheme for plugs.

And today 'red & white' plugs are hard to find??

Sends a pretty clear message about the importance of color  :wink7:

I very often buy white with a red head, 2 brands off the top of my head are Mirrorlure and Bomber, not sure I've noticed a crankbait.  Saltwater lures but I sometimes use them in freshwater, they catch fish as well as any other color.

I have several older lures in the white/red scheme, but I haven't seen any in the stores in a long time.

Rat-l-trap magforce.

If you can't find it then make it. It shouldn't be very hard to duplicate.

Kinda shows that most of todays lures are geared towards catching the fishermen, and not the fish

Some things never change (fish have no money).

Bomber, model A

Lucky strike, various lures

Yeah, No thanks.

I have two old antique red and white lures so they were in use a long, long time ago.

So red and white combos are nothing new.

Shhhh this pattern works fresh and salt bluegill to rockfish

Walmart had some white bomber square bills for really cheap, last time I went. You could sharpie whatever you wanted red...

There are some (MirrOLure and Bomber model A) have the old style red head with white body lure, not bone white. You need to look at the original lure company catalogs or call the companies, not bass fishing online retailers. Clown works and sells and for that reason more lures are available in that color; red head silver body. Otherwise you need to buy all white and spray the head red or buy vintage lures and upgrade the hooks.

Best I am willing to do without listing the lure and color number for you.

Tom

Rapala Sinking Magnum color 011

Lots of options, try eBay, search "crankbaits", a lot of no name(made in China) and other baits that fit your description.
