So Excited! Boat Pick-Up!

Featured Replies

So, December I got myself a little Christmas present... I picked up my first official bass boat. Its a 1995 Javelin 379T with a 150 Johnson outboard....! And I'm going to pick it up on Friday! I cannot compose myself, it feels like it could be Christmas morning!!! Has anyone ever owned this boat? Or even a javelin at the least? I would love to hear everyone's input! Thanks everyone.

Good looking old boat. Those older Johnson motors run forever if they're taken care of. A guy in the bass club I use to fish in had a very similar boat and he never seemed to have any problems with it.

Congrats, one tip for ya, my first boat had a similar Johnson engine, make sure to disconnect the cranking battery before charging it. Without a disconnect either by switch or manually, charging it while hooked up will blow the coil packs. Same with jumping. I blew mine because I just hooked a charger to it and again when I hooked a jump box. Some of us are slow learners lol.

A buddy of mine had a similar Javelin and it was fast. very fast with a 150.

Congrats! I remember when I picked up my first ranger- it was a 2hr drive away and I had already test drove it weeks prior. However, that ride took forever. I am excited just to get the boat back from the marina in a couple weeks! Kiss free time good bye that baby is going to consume your life.

Congrats.  I owned a 1995 Jav 387A from 1999 until last spring.  Loved it and it would run 56 mph with my 1991 GT 150.  Upgraded it to a 175 Proxs in 2011 and it would do 62 mph. Had an 24V 80 pound Minkota and Lowrance HDS units.  Took it from Erie to Falcon and it was a great boat.

Pretty Boat you have. I'm jealous. I want to get a bass boat so bad I cannot stand it but just don't have the money right now with three small kids at home.

Congratulations.  Nothing, and I mean nothing, will ever compare to picking up your first bass boat.

I just sold my Javelin like 2 weeks ago, ran that boat for a little over 2 years. It was a great boat was just wanting something bigger. You will enjoy it!
