Started getting the Trokar hooks from DSG the other day and while they were dirt cheap they really need to work on their packing/shipping efficiency.  I got 9 different packages for one order, 6 of those were cardboard boxes around 8x6x4 in size, and 4 of those boxes only had one pack of hooks in them.  I can only assume they all ship from different distribution centers nationwide but man, they could have put them all in a Pop Tart box and sent it all out at once.  The second order of Trokar hooks I placed has shipped and those too are all coming in 9 separate packages, mostly a single pack of hooks in each shipment.

 I said the same thing. My Trokars came like a dripping faucet as well. Some in small boxes like a reel would come in, and some in plastic envelopes. I was saying no wonder Dicks usually can't compete with other stores and why the one nearest me looks like it's shutting down all the time.

 This appears to be really bad management.   At best it's a really poor look from a customer's view. I had to keep checking to make sure what ones I had received and what ones I still had not got. I wasn't going to complain though as the price was awesome for Trokars. They could only do worse sending one hook at a time but even then at the price they were selling for I guess I wouldn't care.   

Dicks has a flash sale going on right now, and one good item in it is a Duckett 300 series reel (right and left) for $65. I had a $10 off $50 dicks coupon laying around so I ended up getting one for $58 shipped. Not bad at all!

Thanks for the info from dicks just bought 14'different lures for $4 a piece unfortunately a lot of it was sold out but too good of a deal to pass on 

Like another poster, I picked up a Curado 300E from cabelas on sale for 149. Super excited, my first baitcaster

I'm about to call every Cabela's in the country to see if they can sell/ship a Curado 300.

Mc sports is going under. Nation wide sales. I got packs of senkos and hula grubs for around 4 dollars a bag. I was going to get a rod but didn't have any left that suited my needs. They were pretty much cleaned out. If I didn't have so many senkos already I would have bought them all. All kinds of colors for 4 a bag ! Bargains. 

Like everyone else with wally world move was picked over but i got the last pack of trokar ewg hooks for a 1.50 and sk tungsten 1/8 and 3/8 for a 1.50 each took a little digging but At leat came out with something good

Finally got a couple deals at walmart.  found a couple of the famous lightning rods for $10 and surprisingly a couple KVD poppin perchs for $3 a pop.  Also snagged a stack of KVD hooks for $1 each.

Wow thanks for the heads up, I'm hoping I can get a price match on those IMXs.  Driving from Guelph to Oshawa kind of a long trip.  We will see!

Walked in to my local Academy the other day - looking to spend around $100-120 on a new reel to rig out a rod I have. I noticed 2 lone Abu Orra 2SX rod/reel combos that had been re-priced using an old-school mom-n-pop style price gun sticker, in 3 spots on each setup. They were priced at $97.49 (odd right?).  The same reel alone was $99 regularly priced on the shelf.  ($79 on several other sites). 

 

I figured WTH, I don't mind having another 7' MH/F rod around, basically I'm getting it for free.  I walked out with one, after the manager had to be called over to override the regular $139 price.  Next day I caved in and went back for the other one, but it was nowhere to be found. 

 

YMMV - but might keep an eye out for random pricetags.  Wondering if there might have been a big tent sale or something. 

They were priced at $97.49 (odd right?) 

 

Retailers use odd prices for internal codes. For instance it could mean when it was marked down or how many markdowns it has had or any number of other things. 

And ww has gammy kooks down to. 50/75 went to 3 different ww and bought out all the ones I could get 

I got 19 bags of plastics at walmart yesterday for $1 a pack. SK rodents, Biffle bugs, and Zoom lizards in great colors.

Finally a good find after checking multiple walmarts over the last month or two!

I was going to drive out to get one of those IMX MBRs but luckily (unluckily) I called, they sold so fast.  Drive would've been two hours.  I would've gotten that Steez too, but I didn't think it was worth it without getting the IMX too.

Ya, the really good deals get gone real fast. That's just the way it goes I guess.

As to the Steez, I don't know...nothing wrong with putting it onto another rod until you get the one you want. At least it's what I think...
