Really surprised at how well fider has come on this season. I wouldn't have looked at the guy till they headed north, maybe I'll have to get him next time.

Points wise, Tharp was the choice - one of the few times a Bucket A choice will give you some distance on the rest of the field.  I think the other difference maker will turn out to be Mueller in buck

If you look at the way that points are awarded in Fantasy Fishing rules, you are awarded the same number of points no matter how many other people have picked a particular angler. HOWEVER, (my pers

Soooo...I hated my picks for this one. Meaning, I just didn't feel confident about my team. And when I checked BASSTrakk after work today, they weren't doing that well. I was already depressed about this event and thought I would flop.

Then I went onto my bassmaster fantasy account and apparently I jumped like 11 percentile places to 86.25!! Whaaaaaa! Didn't see that coming. My guys didn't even do that well. I guess everyone struggled on day one.

So I had a great Toledo Bend event, and my theme for picks on Toledo was the big M: momentum. I did so well that I stuck with the momentum theme for this one. Specifially, I was very interested in the results for the Bassmaster open on Chickamauga last week. I got:

-Jason Christie: My runner up pick was Jason Williamson. He would have been a better choice, but he had a TERRIBLE finish at Chickamauga last week so I went with Christie. I was focusing on momentum for this event. Jason is tied for my worst pick in 53rd but I have every confidence that he can make the top 50 tomorrow.

-Brett Hite: I was torn between Brett Hite and Palaniuk. Both were decent choices after top 12s at Toledo Bend. He's just outside the cut in 53rd place and looking for a strong day two.

-Ish Monroe: I had Steve Kennedy on, then Tharp, then Kennedy, and then I saw Ish post a really good finish at Chickamauga and figured this lake set up for him. He's doing pretty well in 23rd place.

-Skeet Reese: Strong finish at Toledo and it's looking like Skeet's season is turning around. Sitting in 22nd place currently. He was the only guy I really considered for this bucket if I remember right.

-Justin Lucas: Again, I went with Chickamauga for this one. Justin really needed something to get him on the right track and the bassmaster open was a fantastic tournament for him. I knew that he could correct himself for a decent finish here. Sitting in 48th. I had Tommy Biffle but went with Justin on a whim.

Definitely got some bubble boys - fingers crossed for Saturday, but they could just as easily tank as they could do well.

Talk about a coincidence!

Didn't even see your post, sorry man. I just got hired at Chicfila and started serious bodybuilding 4-5 nights a week so I've suddenly got a lot busier.

I was wondering. We usually hear from you the day before or morning of.

You working towards Mr. Universe?

I'm not working towards doing any competitions. I've been working out with more running, fitness style workouts for about a year and a half. I got in great shape but due to my 16 year old metabolism I couldn't gain any weight or put on mass. What precious little I had was almost 100% muscle with very low body fat percentages. I enjoyed the workouts I was doing, but bodybuilding has always been my favorite, and I got access to a gym I previously wasn't allowed to go to because of age. I'm not giving up running or anything, but I'm 110% focused on gaining some serious mass over the summer.

None of my guys even made the top 50. Thank god it's only day 1.

Edit: Oh man, I scored a 573 for day 1! :o

Hey buddy, any more comments like that and some of us just may have to give you the United Airlines treatment... :D

Sincerely, 54 year old metabolism.

I chose:

A -  Christie

B - Lowen
C - Kennedy
D - Browning
E - Lucas

Apparently Kennedy decided to go trout fishing today, he caught 2 more fish than a dead man.  I don't pick him often, he is high risk, high reward and today he tanked.  Crud.

However, it looks like scores were a lot lower across the board.  In the BR Crew group, only 1 person is above 1000 points for this event (way to lead day 1 M.Smith!!).  I have a feeling this may be one of those events like the Classic where a handful of people who are in the top 15 the first day end up going south on Day 2 and missing the cut.  I think that feeling is based on wishful thinking!!

Eh, I was a little disappointed with my team but I guess theryre not doing too bad!! Never expected to have the highest score.. :)

A- Faircloth 12th

B - Ike 34th

C- Rojas 57th

D- Marty Robinson 9th

E- Biffle 71st

You have the highest score out of the group?

Here's my picks:

A, Jacob Wheeler.  I figured if they're shallow he can catch them on topwater, and if they aren't than all the better.

B, kvd.  Spinnerbaiting around shallow, muddy stumps is his speciality.

C, Jacob powronzink.  Insurance that hasn't panned out yet.

D, Brock Mosley.  I dug up some old articles about how he has fished Ross Barnett almost every week for the past 8 years.  Couldn't pass up on the home field advantage, and at 4.3 percent ownership he is a bargain.

E, tommy biffle.  Didn't like anyone in this bucket, but biffle likes shallow muddy water.

I thought I bombed yesterday, but I actually rose to 78 percentile with a meager 748 points.  Must have been tough on everybody.

not too good for me!  swindle and scroggins are tanking me....

  • Global Moderator

If I could get my guys to catch a limit or get a major upgrade for those who didn't limit yesterday I could have everyone inside the cut....tomorrow would be a different story though.

I have 3 right on the bubble!

Welp, got 3 inside the cut after all: Skeet (24), Christie (28), Evers(40). But then there's Biffle (76) and Kennedy (104). I should have known better than to keep gambling on Kennedy, but I thought Biffle had a great shot at this one.  Anyhow, it should put me at 800-something.
