Points wise, Tharp was the choice - one of the few times a Bucket A choice will give you some distance on the rest of the field.  I think the other difference maker will turn out to be Mueller in buck

If you look at the way that points are awarded in Fantasy Fishing rules, you are awarded the same number of points no matter how many other people have picked a particular angler. HOWEVER, (my pers

He's fishing crazy right now, hasn't placed a finish below 16th since, I wanna say, Cherokee?

Yep. I picked him the first event because he was a hometown guy and he did terrible. I thought he would have been one to perform better in a cold water environment because that's what we deal with up here half the year. Ever since he's been in the cut every time.

Jeez, am I the only one hoping Sam Rayburn has poor cell service right now?

  • Super User

Rayburn def has bad cell service.

I went with KVD, Combs, Skeet, Lintner and Zaldain.  I need a good tournament, the last one killed my average.

Can someone tell me whats going on with Scott Rook ? He has 1 bass at 4.5  but has culled 4 bass at 7.3 ? How is that ?

  • Super User

There are WAY too many sticks showing no fish for that to be accurate. 110% guarantee BASSTrakk is doing the usual BASSTrakk things. ha.

Probably undersized fish. They show up as a catch but don't count as keepers.

Culled fish are keepers .

What are your opinions of the format for this event? I don't thinks it's a bad idea, maybe lacking visually at weight in but you only see the big fish for a second at weigh-ins anyways. Bassmater Live won't be any different.

I'm wondering if it's the format. They are going to keep one fish to show at weigh-in then keep track (weigh, measure, release) of the other 4 heaviest fish.

I think it's a lot harder to be an "official" sport when there are 130 different people and scales weighing fish (if we did it for an elite series tournament). 1 scale vs. 130 scales; it's risky. It's way easier to do in MLF when you have cameras in every boat and only a few people fishing.

I read that the marshals took a 2 he class yesterday on how to do everything the way they want it done, and the marshals are random people like every tourney, along with B.A.S.S nation anglers. Like you said Senko lover the human error factor is always going to be there with that many people weighing bass especially if they're different people every event. I imagine they've thought about this and have tried to set procedures in place to keep the human error out of it though. I think this is the direction B.A.S.S events are heading, which I honestly don't think is a bad idea as far as conservation goes.

Let's say a scale was off and an angler disagreed with the weight. What do you do then? Call out an official to go find you on the lake? That's not going to work.

Read on the live blog that Faircloth has at least three, including a 7 pounder. He's on my team for bucket A.

I imagine that's been thought of and addressed. Maybe they have some weights they carry around to make sure the scales stay true.

I totally get what you're saying, I have to believe there's checks and balances in place to make sure everything's the same across the while field. If my ignorant brain thought of it surely somebody at B.A.S.S. has thought about it.

This catch and release format for the TTBC originally started because the first tournaments were on Lake Fork, which has a 16"-24" slot limit.  They must feel very confident in their scales ability to remain true.

Man this forum is the best. I live in Nj and fish all the time, I am wondering if you guys know any good spots for walleye or muskie fishing? Also I have been posting epic Youtube videos recently with some underwater footage. If you guys could check it out and give me some feed back that would be greatly appreciated.

Good to have you on board, but why hijack our fantasy fishing thread with self promotion?

According to Basstrakk, Ehrler & Jordan Lee are once again punishing me for ignoring them...

Why do I keep doing that??
