Military service

Featured Replies

I come from a family of service members (Navy), and just want to say thanks to others who have served.

I'm currently doing research on serving with USAF after college. ;)

USAF Vet 8 yrs. I was a weather forecaster and weather model tweaker. You'd be surprised how handy this come in when getting ready for a fishing trip or tourney. I'm currently working on a very rudimentary model output that will forecast cloud cover, pressure, wind inversion break time, fog and stratus burn off time, water temp variation, ambient temp, sunrise/sunset, etc. I won't tell you what it's going to be called because that's a no no here but it's going to be handy. My goal is to forecast these parameters out 7 days. Much better than these climo driven App Store products that sell for $3 bucks. This won't be tied to an App Store.

Extremely interested... I'm sure when its out we'll hear about it.
Thanks for your service!

My thoughts, gratitude, and appreciation go out to everyone that served this great country throughout the years.  Without your service and sacrifice we would not enjoy the life we do today, or in the future.  You guys and girls are the best, and will always be the best.  God bless to you all!!!!!!:clap::clap:

I was in the navy in the Seabees as a mechanic for five years. It was pretty cool I spent ten months in Okinawa and 8 months doing convoy security in Afghanistan. The rest of my time was in Gulfport ms. There was awesome fishing in the gulf but I never bass fished while I was there which stunk.

US Army. Sometimes I still wonder if I should have stayed in, but life works itself out, and I am blessed.

Did you have an NCO with the last name of Barrick? Might have been an E-7 or E-8 when you where in.

Not that I'm aware - I can ask around and see if any of my battles heard of 'em.

Cybrslydr- nevermind. Just reread your post, he would have been with an engineer or sapper battalion. My bad.
