Completed Giant Set Workout Day 4 today Went as well as could be expected under the current circumstances.

I would also like to mention in passing that

it takes a certain level of commitment to hit the home gym every other day (alone) and put in an effort that will actually make a difference and not simply go through the motions.  Now add training in a 47 degree dark space. Seems sort of demented. The results make it worth it.

My abs look remarkably similar, but strangely they wanted some winter insulation about 15 years ago and I haven't seen them since.

I'll be in that good of shape when Colonel Sanders starts selling free weights.   Way to go AJay.

  • You are a great example for us all Ajay. "The longer we wait the harder it gets.  The first step is the hardest." I agree with you 100%   My son says he has abs and you Dad have flabs.

Congrats! I spent 4 years in a wheelchair after being injured in the military. I was 400 lbs by the time I decided I wasn't going to die in that chair. Through sheer will and determination I got myself out of that chair and I worked my butt off and lost 100 pounds. I feel better now than I have in a long time. He is a before and after for the naysayers.

Completed Giant Set Workout Day 1.

Starting to acclimate to the 50 degrees in the home gym as well inspiring glow of the oil lamp.

Hope we get power back soon.

Complications associated with this crazy Ice storm including but perhaps not limited to,

no power or anything else for just under 2 weeks made posting video here impossible.

Still got my workout's in but it was no doubt an extra challenge.

But that's mostly resolved so here we go.

Completed Giant Set Workout Day 2.

Was nice to have light and some heat in the home gym.

This one was a bit of a grinder but I tried to finish up strong.

Giant Set Workout Day 3 today.

Trying really hard to 'get back to normal.'

But I won't lie, it's been a challenge.

Had to pull two no training days in a row prior to this one.

Cutting, Lugging and clearing behemoth oak tree branches takes it toll on the OG.

Still mustered up the gas to get this training done today.

Giant Set Workout Day 4 - but it was a definitely a 'light day'.

May need to drop my training back a bit to one day on and two days off for a while.

Just so that I can have the energy make some headway on this disaster of a property.

Going to be a long summer but I do feel fortunate that I can still make it happen.

Giant Set Workout Day 1 this morning.

GoPro decided not to record any audio on this one.

Not a fan .

Training went well despite the electronic glitch.

Giant Set Workout Day 2 on this Sunday morning.

Despite sucking a little more wind than I'd prefer,

I managed to grind through training session number 50 for 2025.

Giant Set Workout Day 4 this time.

When I'm doing this correctly, the total body warm up I do before each of these training sessions, is thorough and takes a little bit longer than the workout itself.

Super important.

All business on this Sunday Morning.

Completed Giant Set Workout Day 1.

Getting myself in the right mindset

to take on the mental and physical stress of this training,

plays an important role in my performance.

A Strong mind makes for a stronger & healthier body.

This is from a couple posts up, but what’s your warm up look like?

It's essentially a very light body workout where I use body weight, light weights, and resistance bands to get loose, warm up and get some blood flowing.

I always give it it's due and never short change or skip it.

Takes about 12-15 minutes of constant movements.

Then for my heavier (relative term) compound lifts,

Leg presses, Rack Pulls, Sissy Squats, and Step Back Lunges,

I do 2 or 3 sets to work up to my working weight.

Mostly to prepare my knees and lower back for the load that's coming.

None of this is ever included in my video's - usually just the working sets them selves.

I'll do a video of just my warm up here soon.

It's really nothing special and almost any similar type deal will get the job done.

But I'll show what I do and label it (and tag you) so you'll know.

Thanks! Knocking on 50’s door and the hardest part is getting everything moving every morning…

Pre-Workout Warm-Up Routine

Been doing some version of this

before every training session for a while.

Don't believe I've posted it here recently.

If you're so inclined, here it is.

This one was before this morning's workout.

After getting my butt kicked in the wind & waves on Lake Menderchuck yesterday afternoon,

I was back in the home gym this morning for more of the same.

Giant Set Workout Day 2 was on tap.

Challenge accepted.

Giant Set Workout Day 3 this morning.

After a fairly full day of cutting and moving More Wood on my off day,

I wasn't sure what I would have in the tank for this one.

Turns out I had just enough.

After a cold & mostly wet day on the water yesterday,

I was back in the home gym for Giant Set Workout Day 4.

I felt pretty good going into it and even better after knocking this one out.

Some Days I don't really feel like I'm 65 years old.

This was one of those days.

I like them.

Time for a few days off and then I'll be switching up my training.

More to follow.

After 10 weeks on the 4 Day Giant Set program,

I've switched back to the 5 day split with standard reps/sets.

I eased into it with Day 1 and it went well.

Interested to see where it goes from here.

Completed 3 working sets of the 5 scheduled movements

and I'm showing the last 2 sets of each here.

Stepped into the home gym for Workout Day 2 today, a little ticked off.

By the time I was done, that was just about gone.

Workout Day 3 today and it was challenging.

Titled this thread Working to Stay Lean 7 years ago.

The past few months I've been trying to keep the needle pointing in that direction.

But sometimes that needle has a mind of it's own.

Workout Day 4 on this super sunny, summer-like Monday.

Still feeling my way through this workout.

Especially since I haven't done a few of these movements for a couple of months.

Pretty sure I'll feel the results of that tomorrow even though I tried my best to restrain myself.
