My abs look remarkably similar, but strangely they wanted some winter insulation about 15 years ago and I haven't seen them since.

I'll be in that good of shape when Colonel Sanders starts selling free weights.   Way to go AJay.

  • You are a great example for us all Ajay. "The longer we wait the harder it gets.  The first step is the hardest." I agree with you 100%   My son says he has abs and you Dad have flabs.

Workout Day 1.

I completed three working sets of the five movements planned.

I think it went well.

Sometimes a decent training day will sort of sneak up on me.

This one was like that.

Workout Day 2.

Oldness brings a steady grace, a quiet triumph in its pace.

A dignity the years have spun, beneath the setting, golden sun.

Knocked out Workout day 3 this time around.

It was a bit of a grind, but it definitely needs to be that way.

Eat, sleep, train & repeat.

After a fun day on the water and a maintenance day off,

I was back in the home gym for workout day 4.

Completed 3 working sets as scheduled with one exception.

For the last two Day 4 workouts, I've performed a bodyweight lat pull-up

instead of the cable lat pull listed.

I like these and will probably make the move a permanent change.

Back at it with Workout Day 1.

Completed 3 working sets of the 5 scheduled movements.

It took me a couple of extra warm-up sets to get into the groove.

But I got there eventually.

Quick update at 4.5 months into my training program. I dealt with a couple minor injuries that are healing nicely. Took some time to lean out while they were healing. Overall things are still going good, but I will be shifting training focus to include more endurance training here shortly due to some opportunities that opened up. Also looking to double up on the amount of leg work I do weekly. Keep doing great things @A-Jay

Workout Day 2.

I started with the step-back lunge.

Completed three working sets of each movement scheduled and I was toast . . . I mean done.

Workout Day 3.

I've led a healthy lifestyle my entire adult life.

This includes maintaining a sensible diet and engaging in consistent resistance training.

As I've aged, my abilities have and will no doubt continue to decline.

Adapting and driving on is the name of the game.

Now at 66, that mindset is paying off by helping me find the best version of myself.

I've recently started with some physical therapy in addition to my usual exercise. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome apparently. This is a recent discovery with the dislocation of my shoulder three times between August and September. I have a long list of related symptoms and physiological horrors that I thought were just normal stuff.

But if y'all were wondering where I've been, I'm having a harder time than usual keeping my joints in place and it's been prohibitive

Workout Day 4.

There's a delicate balance between maintaining the challenge

and overexerting myself, or worse.

That sucks but I do hope physical therapy helps you get more mobile. Missing our adventures on Ray Rob and Stillhouse!

Workout Day 1.

Starting and ending every set of the leg press from the bottom position

is challenging and took me a while to acclimate to.

On a positive note, it certainly has helped me maintain some decent flexibility.

It's been a minute since I've added anything to this one.

After my last submission here, I took several days off from the gym.

I felt the need to spend as much time on the water as possible

before the end of the fishing season here.

Glad I fished when I did but it's over for 2025.

I've been back in the home gym every other day now for the past week or so.

All Good.

Capturing, editing and posting videos of my training helps me in a few different ways.

The least of which is simply to help pass the time during hard water.

Currently, I am on a brief video hiatus, but expect to resume early next year.

Every day I have a choice.

I can focus on why I'm discouraged about my limitations.

Or I can shift my attention to the countless reasons to feel grateful for what I can do.

The power is always in my focus.

It's an empowering choice.

Workout Day 3.

The truth is, behind every weight I lift, every set I complete,

and every gram of protein I consume is a freak.

I just don't carry the sign.

Nice and Thanks ~

While you might not carry the sign either,

I'm pretty sure there's a few freak genes floating around in there somewhere.

Workout Day 4 ~

Grip strength is a powerful yet often underestimated marker of overall health and longevity.

From reducing my risk of chronic diseases to preventing falls and maintaining functional independence, grip strength plays a significant role in my well-being.

The negative effects of decreased grip strength can be far-reaching.

But the good news is that improving one's grip is possible

through consistent exercise or physical therapy.

Agree @A-Jay, grip strength is virtually never talked about and, obviously, an overlooked metric that needs to be taken seriously.

Back around to Workout Day 1.

Completed three working sets of the five movements scheduled.

I strive to be a man who shows up and resists the urge to give up.
