Push 2 Workout today.

I feel like I'm finally settling into this Leg- Push - Pull style of training.

Need to ensure my recovery process continues to be on point.

Always pretty critical however seems even more so now.

My abs look remarkably similar, but strangely they wanted some winter insulation about 15 years ago and I haven't seen them since.

I'll be in that good of shape when Colonel Sanders starts selling free weights.   Way to go AJay.

  • You are a great example for us all Ajay. "The longer we wait the harder it gets.  The first step is the hardest." I agree with you 100%   My son says he has abs and you Dad have flabs.

Plenty of grunting & groaning in today's Pull 2 Workout.

Finished this one off with a giant set of DB curls.

Pretty sure that's going to leave a mark.

Did one of your machines crap the bed ??

No

I know what I can do.

Beyond that there's little return on the effort.

I know this isn't a general weight loss thread so forgive me.  I have lost 7 pounds since February.  I feel leaner and sleep better and have more endurance through out the day too.

It's mostly due to playing in a weekly mens ice hockey league for a few months.  I pushed my body to the limits in each session.

It may have also been a by-product of some stress too.  I don't eat as much when I'm stressed out.

I've lost 25 lbs since the end of February.  180 lbs to 155 lbs.  I graduated HS at 177.  I recently had to get a pair of 31 inch jeans.  I deal with stress and depression by hiking and biking and I don't eat as much as I used to.  I'm curious what my body fat percentage is.

How tall are you if you don't mind me asking?  155 pounds is pretty small for an adult male.

Enjoy your break from the uploads A-Jay. I still very much appreciate advice you’ve given me. Currently what works best for me is a legs-back-push-arms+shoulders week split, with accessory workouts sprinkled on the 1-2 other days and 1-2 “rest” days every week. Plenty of time for muscle recovery and quite sustainable. Started this routine at the start of June and been at it for 2 months now. I enjoy it. I like to get my workouts in before most people are awake.

Bought a fancy scale with all sorts of readings and an app to monitor my measurements.  10.5% body fat and 20.5 BMI

I'm good with those numbers.

After a killer birthday steak and a little too much birthday cake, I'll be back in the home gym again today,  busting out a workout.

Still feels weird being closer to 70 years old than 60.

Now where did I put my Geritol ?

During a brief respite from recording my workouts, a few things happened.

I stopped shaving my head and most of my face, I put on a few pounds

and this thread just went over 100,000 views.

That one surprised me.

Any how, Push 2 Workout today and I felt like it went OK.

Showing just the scheduled working sets.

I've been shaving my head since I went in the service in 79.

It was just easier.

Not to mention that hat head hair while doing commercial Vessel boarding's

at 2 am appears, let's call it less than professional.  Or stupid if you like.

And then as a DI - Chrome Done was a way of life.

Once I retired I just kept it going.

Finally don't be fooled, I am still mostly bald on top at this point,

but now I just don't .... . ....

🤪

A-Jay, I've said it before that you inspired me to get back in the gym. Yesterday I benched 265(free weight) for 14 with a 2 second pause for each rep, at the end of my workout. Thank you. 50lb cow feed bags feel much lighter nowadays.

That's awesome to hear & thank you for saying so.

That's stuff inspires me as well.

265 is 100 lbs more than I weigh  . . . . .

I believe you know this - But use or lose is Real.

Here's to our continued success.

Yesterday was a scheduled training day but with weather coming in

I could heard my lawn saying "Cut me Mickey".

So I did.

Back at it with the Pull 2 day.

Started well but felt like I ran out of gas near the end.

Sometimes it just goes that way.

I wish. Good work on a good lift.

After a decent day on the water yesterday,

I was back in the home gym for Legs 1 workout.

Not sure how many sets and reps of this Leg Press I've done over the years.

But I do know that when I'm doing it right,

it never gets any easier.

For my 101st training day of 2025, I completed the Push 1 workout.

Performed the DB Overhead Shoulder Press from a seated position in this one.

Felt OK, so I might stick with that for a while and see how it goes.

I’m getting to add back DB overhead press now that my frozen shoulder is thawing. It feels weird but it definitely is key for full functionality. Keep on bringing the vids.

Really Glad to hear it ~

I use a " Standing Plate Halo" as a warm up for my shoulders.

It can also be used as a supplemental functional movement as well.

Check it out.

Stay Strong . . . .
