Thinking about switching to big game for my flippin rods, been using seaguar Abrasx and flipping flouro #20 lb, thinking about switching to big game #25, flipping shallow wood 3/8 to 1/2 oz baits. Lmk thanks

Thanks! I don't feel like paying for the flouro any more.

Yes it will work. 20lb is plenty but 25 will be great

Either would be good - Big Game would be the better value.

They are great lines. I've used and love both. ChrisD is right on value.

I throw 15# Big Game with no problems landing Hawgs!

Willows and mesquite trees, mesquite pretty much lasts forever.

I have used big game, but prefer P-line CXX. Less stretch, more abrasion resistant. Big game is great line though, I'd feel safe flipping wood with it.

Although Big Game is a great value, I find it has more memory than I personally like. I like Stren and Trilene XL much more. I definitely agree that fluorocarbon is pricey.

I use big game on a regular basis. Cxx is another good one too, BUT it’s thicker. Cxx 12 is big game 15. It’s easier to just pick up a 600yd spool if bg from Walmart for $6.

Have you tried CXX or Izorline XXX? Both imo are much better then big game and very affordable.

The toughest mono/copolymer hands down is Maxima Ultragreen, it reminds me a lot of a flourocarbon line without the knot breakage issues, use 20-25 pound for flippin and you'll straighten out a standard non super braid hook before the line breaks if your hung up.

Maxima Ultragreen with a Palomar Knot is an awesome combo.

Big Game is a good economy line for heavy duty use, but it's way too stretchy and not as abrasion resistant.
