We lost a friend!

I was uncertain where to post this but this board and especially me lost a good friend yesterday. One of our members lot his battle with cancer. If you had any dealings with him you knew him here as Kris, I knew him as Ed Kriston. We became good friends over a decade ago thanks to ham radio.

Decades ago he was sponsored by Gambler and later did some mechanic work for them at some of the tournaments.  I got him back into bass fishing and I am glad we spent some memorable days on my boat together.  He was always kind and willing too share his experience and knowledge here and on other boards. He even became a moderator on another board.

Please, if you ever shared a topic with him, or read his writings here, just give a prayer up for him, his family and friends! We will be coping with a big hole in our hearts.  He left big shoes to follow in.

Sorry for your loss and the loss of all his family and friends , prayers for him. My brother in law is fighting now against leukemia it’s a hard long battle.

Oh man I'm sorry.... that's really sad. Cancer is a terrible illness. I've lost people to that as well. The pain lessens over time but never quite goes away. I'm not sure of whom you are speaking since I haven't been here all that long, but doesn't make it any less tragic to read about. I will offer my prayers to them, and I pray that you, his family, and other friends whom he was closest to, can find solace in your loss. Those we lose are never truly gone. They live on in their teachings, our memories, and in His kingdom forever. He has answered the Father's call to go home, and now lives free of ailment or pain. Though he no longer walks among us, know that one day you will see him again. Until then, mourn his passing but remember the good times you shared.

Sorry for your loss.  Fishing partners are like bothers after you have spent years together sharing the sport you both love.  I lost a fishing brother of twenty years to a sudden widow maker stroke.  It has never been the same since and I still have him as the picture on my phone every time it turns on.  I lost a brother that day, I feel your pain.  May he Rest In Peace, and May God comfort his loved ones during this difficult time.

Sounds like a true friend and that's a tough loss. Savor those memories of you and him fishing on your boat. Remember he's at peace now, he's not in pain, no suffering, all at peace.

Thanks everyone. I listed this here, not just for me but many members shared topics with him, especially when he was redoing the floorplan on his reservoir rig. He posted a lot of pics and he also answered a lot of questions too.  You are right fishing partners are like brothers.  We are blessed to spend quality time with them and the memories last well beyond the time are made.

Ed had time to help everyone and that is why h is so fondly remembered by many.  As long as I knew him he always had at least 5 projects going at one time. LOL.  RIP my friend. You have completed your last project! We will carry on with the rest of them.

Sorry to hear he passed. Cancer is a terrible thing. It claimed my mom when I was a teen. Prayers to his family sent.

Touching. Must have been a great guy. I'm glad he had a great friend like you for support and having a blast with.

As a cancer survivor myself I am saddened to hear that someone close to you and a fellow fisherman has passed to this terrible disease. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, prayers go out to all whom he knew and all who were affected.

Very sad .... God Bless

So sorry for your loss, and for his family. I lost a fishing buddy years ago and hung up my rods for quite a while after that...I carry his picture in my truck and in my yak now; I still talk to him when I'm on the water and sometimes I think he whispers in my ear about where the big ones are hiding.

Things will be tough for a while, but the memories get sweeter with time...I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him but I raise my rod and tip my well worn hat to him for a courageous fight against a heartbreaking disease....take extra good care of yourself and his family.

I hate to read stuff like this.

T&P to the family.

Maybe one day we will be able to wipe out all cancers.
