Size Estimate?

Featured Replies

Caught on the river so I didn't have my scale/measuring board. Any estimates on the weight of this fish?

Nice river smalllie. It would be best to bring a scale to get a more accurate weight than guessing it from a picture. You can also use the following formula for a close estimate;

Length X Length X Girth / 1200 = estimated weight of bass. You can use fishing line to measure the length and girth.

Maybe a couple pounds plus. Nice smallie.

Hard to tell with a fish that close to the camera but going off what I'm guessing the length is, I'd say in the 3lb range. It's a very pretty fish for sure.

Beautiful winter fish, I’d guess in the 3-4lb range. Nice fish no matter what ??

I haven't caught a ton of SMB here in OK, but my biggest is 2.11 and I think yours is real close if not bigger. However, I would recommend buying a set of scales, I want to know for sure what a fish weighs.

Right around 3 pounds give it take.
