This winter is never going to end. I'm running out of places to put shoveled snow.

I think that's our total for the year So far. By now we should have 40-50 inches.  My snow puppy is no more, he's been softened by my wife. These guys as you probably know are built for mountai

  • And of course, there's always this little issue.

9* this morning...thanks Midwest peeps! :)

Actually, after today we start climbing to more seasonal temps. By our 9th day of the 10 day forecast we get into the mid-50*'s.

Another snow / no school for the kids / drive into work will be horrible — day here in Omaha. Way too much snow this winter.

It looks like you guys are going to get hammered especially northern Nebraska and SD in the coming days.

So once there is finally open water, you'll understand it when I post picture after picture & video after video of Big Brown Bass after Big Brown Bass day after day.

I don't have to worry about that. I don't have a way to make videos and what few fish I catch nobody would want to see anyway.

They've up the forecast to 8"-14" of snow on Saturday. In response we had this little tidbit from the local newspaper.

"A legal objection — with tongue in cheek suspected — was filed Thursday against what is just the latest drumbeat of a relentless and exhausting winter. Hennepin County District Judge Kevin Burke signed an emergency temporary restraining order filed by the citizens of Minnesota that names as defendants Minnesota Meteorologists, Old Man Winter and Mr. Snow.

In his ruling, laden with ample doses of legalese and humor, Burke wrote, “This order is issued because there is compelling evidence in the record that Minnesota Meteorologists have conspired with the other defendants to increase television and radio ratings. Who, for example, would watch the weather in Hawaii, where it is always nice?”

Just think how much colder it would be were it not for global warming. ?

6* this morning. Our slow and steady ascent to the 50* mark starts today. By Thursday of next week we'll be hitting low 50*'s and a possible 60* on Friday.

C'MON SPRING!!!

Got a nice little surprise today, we were supposed to have a high in the mid-30*'s buty we just missed 50* by a degree or 2*. C'MON SPRING!

I won’t lie I’d trade you guys all the snow you’ve had for the relatively mild one we have had. Our lakes need to recover and this winter hasn’t helped yet.

You bring the trucks and I’ll be ready here with the snowblower and shovels! Bring LOTS of trucks.

How ever many trucks you think you'll need...triple it.

? mid 40’s and sunny today! Tomorrow 50’s scattered rain. The snow should be almost all gone within 24 hours. Thursday upper 60’s scattered rain and very windy, so hopefully that’ll eat up a bunch of ice!

The UP was 46 today. You didn’t get any of that?

Today's the warmest it's been in weeks - only hit 38.

If it’s any consolation it’s back to low to mid 30’s by next week.

Switcheroo - they're saying mid to upper 40s for us next week.

Jeepers, back in the low 20*'s this morning!

40*'s & 50*'s will be the tempo ranges for the next 10 days with a possible 60* towards the end. Waters are unlocking as well.

That’s the forecast here in Michigan as well. The nights and morning will be below freezing though. No rain in the forecast, I was hoping for a day of warm rain to put the ice melt in overdrive.

I'm starting to get antsy. Last Friday we had temps in the 70's and looking at the upcoming forecast we have a few days in the week where it won't get below freezing so I'm thinking the lakes that still have ice on them (every lake still has ice on them) will be opening up. Spring is about to spring. Gear up now.
