Pro that gives out the most Info

Recommended Posts

I’m looking for someone to guide me in the right direction. Is there a professional angler rather currently fishing or not, that really breaks down what they do in the seasons with the baits they use and what they target. Doesn’t have to be in one article or book but if you google them it will tell you everything they really do

YouTube has some great videos but most are to short to learn anything!

Greg Hackney's videos are some of the best & most are 15 minutes plus.

I like the way these guys cover material and their approach to fishing in no particular order, Larry Nixon, Greg Hackney, Marty Stone, Tim Horton, Aaron Martin.

David Dudley does pretty good also. Brings you through his whole process of breaking down the lake on the water.

If you want painstaking detail of every aspect of the technique, AMart is your guy.

Al Linder .... He has written a ton of great information and books and also has a web page called angling edge. You can watch 8 years of fishing shows right through the "watch episodes" section at angling edge.com. If I was trying to fast track my knowledge I would watch every episode he has about Bass and then I would read his books about Advanved bass strategies. Also consider Brandon Palanuik, Kevin Van Dam, Michael Iaconelli or even Mark Menendez.....All of these anglers are good at presenting clear and concise information.....but if you want too much information than check out Aaron Martens. Good Luck !

Larry Nixon has his Bass Class on YouTube. A little dated but solid info for sure. Tatical Basin really breaks it down to.

I would only make one suggestion!

Start with someone who knows your local waters first & then expand.

I love how he can change direction mid sentence.

These have all been great suggestions and I want to thank everyone for helping. Only thing is I guess what I'm asking doesn't exist or people don't want to share it lol. What I'm asking again to clarify is one specific person that may have retired or may still fish that says during pre-spawn he has this tied on with this pound  test/rod and targets these areas, So on through all the seasons like spawn/summer etc.
I do watch all these people you've suggested and they are great for info but none of them really have a written blog/book about what they've done in great detail. Not really trying to learn more about baits or techniques just how a person that has fished for a living has become successful in detail in the style of their fishing

Mike Iaconelli wrote Fishing on the Edge.  Its about his rise to Elites and winning the Classic. He talks a lot about how he made connections in the fishing industry and how he advanced to the elites thru the BASS Nation.

Yeah, that information is out there, but I am not aware of any one angler who has compiled it that way in that detail.

Is this just a research curiosity thing? Or do you think this will serve as some sort of road map? Cause it won't.

Search up Bama Bass on youtube. He isn't a pro but he catches 7+ pounders regularly and gives lots of tips.

Some youtube options that tend to cover some of the things you're interested in.

Tactical Bassin.

Great info, but I can't use most of it. The majority of our water here is shallow and weed-choked. No canyon lakes or deltas. I have practically zero opportinity to throw crankbaits or open hook presentations that dive much deeper than 2 feet save for a few difficult, or difficult to reach, or restricted lakes. Still, I never miss a vid. Very detailed.

FishtheMoment

This guy is big on graphing lakes, Navionics, and providing tons of data with a mind toward fishing high percentage spots. I'm not saying he's the best, but I haven't found info this in depth. Check out his latest vid on his catch rates per lure type over the past year. It's broken down into weight of fish caught and season. Definitely give this guy a look. Tennessee

Milliken Fishing

Skip the ice fishing vids unless you like ice fishing. Occasionally he'll take time out for specific tips in the clickbait titled ones.  However, when he takes the time to do actual technique vids he's very specific. I fish like he fishes, so I watch. Check out his recent vid on the Alabama rig. Mostly fishes Nebraska but travels plenty. Up north and down to the Ozarks

Brain Latimer

Most vids will include, at one point, real, very useful info regarding technique. He fishes the Carolinas and is a FLW pro.

If you're interested in swimbaits check out KeepingItReelFishing. He doesn't post vids often, but when he does they're good. They go long. He speaks calmly, and provides details. He fishes New Jersey.

YouTubeFISHINGVIDS

This dude is chill and always describes the hows, whats, and whys about how he's fishing. Mostly the northeast.

There are more of course. I tend to pay attention to cadence and rod action when I'm watching. I'm always looking for different twists, so I watch.

The Linder's have been in the business 30-40 years? They have articles and DVD's with this info you're looking for. I'm willing to bet everyone that has been mentioned has this info you're looking for. It may not be all in one video or article, but they've done it. You may have to take notes and compile this info to get exactly what you need but it's there.

My curiosity is getting the best of me, does it have to be from only one angler, or can it be this is what Ike uses during pre-spawn, this is what Hackney uses during the spawn, and so on? If from only one why only one?

I suggest learning from a Pro that fishes the same style you like to fish. All these guys can catch fish. For example, if you like to throw frogs, follow a pro how excels with a frog. If you like to power fish, follow a power fisherman. Greg Hackney and KVD would be examples of the above. Bottom line, improve on the styles you personally like to fish. Once you get comfortable with those, expand into new stuff.

This article might not have the detail you are looking for, but I think it's worth looking at:

Great piece!
