Hello from Central Kansas!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I've lurked these forums for years now, and learned a lot of techniques and spent way too much money haha.  Decided it was time to stop lurking and join up.

I love fishing out of a kayak, and plan to do several local tournaments around the Wichita area along with some KBF online/trail events.  To be honest I need way more time on the water;  I'm struggling to catch fish anywhere that's not a private sandpit. I'm used to fishing a very small local sandpit and struggle in larger bodies of water.  Usually we go to Wilson and just recently have been a couple of times to McPherson SFL.

I can't wait to learn more from everyone here, it's such a great community!!

Welcome from another KS member!

Wilson SFL or Wilson Reservoir? Haven't fished the Reservoir in years but fish the SFL a few times every year, it's a lot of fun. I actually did good from my kayak at the SFL early last year.

I actually did not even know Wilson SFL existed!! Add another lake to the list...haha.

I've only been to Wilson Reservoir on my kayak a couple of times, haven't really had the opportunity to really fish it more than an hour or so each time (was trying to teach the now fiancé how to paddle and manage a pole in her yak), but I'm planning to really try to learn it this year as it's only about 45 minutes from where I live.

Am dying to catch a smallmouth there!
