Finesse tubes

Senko, tight to shore as soon as the shallow water temp starts to climb.

Lipless cranks (super spot is my fav), spinnerbaits, slow rolled swimbaits, and hair jigs.

Lipless cranks, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, paddle tail swimbaits.

Beetle Spins in early spring, then spinnerbaits later in spring. Once the bass start moving and pre-spawn feeding I prefer chatterbaits.

PLASTIC WORM .... weightless and t rigged depending on depth, cover, vegetation and structure ....

zoom trick worm is perfect for the job .... and it can search just fine ....

good fishing ...

Lipless crankbaits, sassy shads, shallow running crankbaits, and jigs.

Weightless fluke has been dynamite in small ponds here in northern Virginia, swim jigs and flipping jigs are doing great too.

Lipless cranks, chatterbait, weightless senko, Biffle bug/swing head and keitechs.

Red Baby 1-, Red/firetiger lipless, tubes greenpumpkin gold fleck, Black/blue chatterbait, gold Colorado spinnerbaits

The entire tackle box is in play in the spring.

In the cold water period from ice out until the water temps rise into the mid 50's the selection is some what more limited due to overall activity levels of the fish. It's hard to beat a lipless crank, suspending jerkbait, or a compact jig for largemouth during this time.

Once it hit's the mid 50's fish movement increases, and so does the selection of tools that work and work well. It's almost a fish what you like type deal, and let cover, location, water clarity, current weather conditions, and depth dictate your choices.

Usually the only time of year I throw hard baits  on my lake , lipless cranks

and jerk-baits ...the water stays cold here until late spring time.

I caught many and on several occasions with craws, but I caught the most with BPS Shadee Shad in toad oil. They look real with great action. Fish slow with a little twitch and boom. That is, if they have not been hit on the fall. I didnt use to trust BPS lures but this and their Wacky Stik-O Worm have really worked. I am addicted to lures (as are most) and I have just about every soft, but these are real winners for me.

Jerkbaits are my favorite, followed by a spinnerbait.
