Welcome aboard, Matthew!

It's awesome you had success with PB&J. I have had limited luck

with it, so don't use it much. Hank Parker used to say it was one

of his favorites. Guess that nudged me to try it.

I say keep using until it stops workin' for ya! :D

I dunno but a PB&J Brush Hog on a swing head dropped around brush piles works like a champ for me, too

Purple and brown or what today is referred to as PB&J has been around since the late 60's in vinyl skirts, also blue & brown was popular.

I put together black, purple & brown in '71 as a 3 color hair jig to match the 3 colors used with pork rind trailers with good success that became my go to color combo called "anywhere anytime" because it works everywhere year around.

Some crawfish can be brown with a purple hue. The fish that were chewing on that Rage craw were probably feeding on them. I heard about this coloration and didn’t believe it until I saw a crawdad in the water and it appeared to be purple. Then it clicked.... uncrustables!

My most productive bait since the start of summer has been a PB&J jig with a Green Pumpkin Rage craw. I'll have to try the pb&j craw with that jig.

You had your lure in the right place at the right time with the right retrieve. It just happened to be PB&J.

Purple and its many variants like pb&j  , elec blue... have  long been my most successful soft plastic  colors .

Most of the time I only use two colors. PB&J or Black&Blue depending on the condition the water is in.

So you changed colors and PB&J was the only one working? Or you went fishing, found a good spot and presented the bait in a way that the fish wanted and caught them, and the bait just happened to be that color Rage Craw?

I like a PB&J jig, but I've had limited success on PB&J plastics, no idea why.

It will catch fish and some days it is the best color.  However most of the time I catch more fish on other colors.

I have the same experience as Bluebasser86. A brown or black trailer on a PB&J colored jig is killer for me as is a brown and purple hair jig but not so much for a soft plastic.

Well it was really shallow clear water with no shade and I started with summer craw and changed to pb&j
