Hi,

I was fishing couple days ago and it become windy till 1.5oz came back to shore after casting, I checked the wind and it was 12M/h, so what I am asking is actually if I look at the weather report, and I see wind on what speed, I need to ignore fishing that day, what is the edge or limit of wind speed for you?

Depends a lot on what you're fishing out of, and the body of water. In my kayak, it gets to be a pain above 10mph. In my boat, 20-25 on the bigger lakes, not really a limit on the small lakes. The wind is always blowing here though, so it's just something I have to deal with.

If fishing from shore. If the wind is blowing in your face, don't use braid, the wind will easily bow it. Try to cast at an angle, sort of parallel to the shore if possible, or move to another part of the lake where the wind doesn't affect your casting to much. In windy conditions, say 10 to 15 mph, I like throwing a 3/4 oz spinner bait, or a heavy jig. on 15 lb mono.

"Weather Report" wind forecasts are IMO, Wildly inaccurate; in both direction and velocity.

They might as well simply stop providing it.

Most times it's virtually useless.

as for what speed is do-able ?

Use Safe as your guideline and after that, it's how much can you effectively fish in ?

This was me today, being highly ineffective . . .

Around 15 mph I have to start using the anchor to hold my position.  Anything stronger then I will go over to the matted vegetation on the surface, and raise up the motor.  I let the wind push me across the vegetation and fish it as I go.

I should quit posting in " wind " threads. Lol

It leaves a false impression of my demeanor.

Wind picks up over 10 - 15 mph and I closely resemble a 2 yr old having a tantrum.

If I'm fishing from a 14 foot jon boat with a modest 12 volt Minn Kota ,  I go on light wind days , usually nothing  over 15 MPH  less than 10 preferable . If I'm in my 22 foot Lowe with an 80 lb thrust elec motor  then I'll go up to around 25 MPH . I can always find sheltered banks if need be .

100% agree.  I generally add 10 MPH to the prediction just to be prepared for the worst.

One thing I do as a shore guy is fish windblown shores but try to do it from angles where I cast to it with the wind at my back. Also with the small bodies I fish it's possible to find productive areas that are at least partially protected. So for me if say 20+ is kinda when I get annoyed..even then I still do it sometimes.
